Well Rogers is fucked anyway. I luckily only have to deal with them for my cable, and I'd get outa that too... except then I'd get to deal with Bell... Why the fuck can't Canadian companies run their shit? Why is it that all the protected shit gets bogged down and stupid?

This is why im against protectionism and government interference. Its the same with healthcare. Government run or protected shit is overpriced and inefficient.

This isn't accurate. There are lots of studies that prove otherwise. I don't feel like going into a long discussion over economical theories, but this is not really true.

With regards to Rogers. Yes...it sucks. My parents are Cable and Cell phone free nowadays due to a dispute with Rogers. (...nope, i have no clue what they due all day nowadays...)

I hope Rogers screws over all the Microcell customers.

But yeah, Rogers billing and customer service sucks shit. If it wasn't for the awesome corporate plan that I have, I would be long gone. As for billing, why not get them to invoice you and sign up to view you bill online. If you miss a payment then it's your fault and you can't blame them.

Sorry that Rogers played you dirty....and I don't condone their actions (tho they have their own politiks to deal with about proper customer service tactics)
....but IMHO I think you entered into an agreement...you neglected (defaulted) on that agreement and then got mad at them for trying to find out why you neglected....so why don't you just admit you could of handled this better and learn from this experience.

Even though you weren't happy about the time(s) that they called you...a reasonable person would have looked after this, rather than get mad and ignore it....
Come on....your a business man....you should know this by now.

Same here... if I wasn't on a corporate plan with them and actually had a friend working as a CSR in one of their centres (helps with smoothing out the problems, late charges, bullshit charges and everything else), I'd be long gone as well. Fucken wankers.

Rogers billing is pure jokes... I had my credit card replaced as well, and totally forgot about updating the online automated billing with this new one (that was the last thing on my mind at a time, with all other bills), and what do I get one day. A cute little invoice saying I owe them $20 more due to "payment being returned"...

Now, what do I do? Call them, of course! After talking to some girl she tells me that they tried to bill my card 3 times and it didn't go thru either time. So I'm said something along the lines of "No shit, that card is not usable anymore" and asked them why didn't they let me know about that, I could've gave them a new number after the payment failed to go through the first time. Her excuse - "We tried to process your payment on 3 days in a row, and it didn't go through, so after that third time there is really nothing we can do since the system will charge you $20 fee, yadda yadda yadda"... I just went "I don't have time for this shit" and hung up right there, called my buddy in Rogers and 2 minutes later had that cleared up.

And no, I'm not on that automated billing anymore... fucken idiots.

Another thing - why can't I put my account on hold or something when I'm not using it for a few months? If I wanna leave the country for like 2-3 months and won't be using the phone at all, I still gotta pay the monthly fee. Can't freeze my account or something while I'm on a contract, eh? Well, to hell with them! My contract is expiring in a few weeks, so they can blow me...

Its one thing to call ONCE. And after the first call i was going to call them up and fix it. Its when call after call after call started coming in that i got pissed off. Its one thing to send a friendly reminder and wait a few days, its another to harass you to no end. Sorry but there is no justification given the amount of money owed and the time period involved.

And as a business man, i know that if i piss my customers off with constant harrassment, they won't be coming back.

ive been late paying rogers before, and they were pretty nice about it, actually.

i didnt pay for a full month, and all i got was a notice on my next bill saying i owed a certain amount, and a small late fee.

the only time they called was when i had not payed for like 6-7weeks. but it was still ok. im suprised, because we've had so much trouble with our cable bill! it was nice not to be harrassed for once.

On another note, regarding the late payments for Rogers...

This one lady that we used to rent an apartment to is still receiving her Rogers invoices at my address... well, she's not receiving them cuz I haven't seen her in like 6 months, but we still get invoices in her name. I did open up the last one (*OOOHHHH!!!*), and came to find out that she hasn't paid her bill in over 9 months, and owes them around $800 so far. Now, what I'm wondering is what in the world is Rogers doing with her then? Why don't they simply cancel the service or something?

Someone started a thread looking for a new cell phone company. I work for Rogers and gave up my Telus phone because I got an employee "deal" (BTW I work for Sportsnet, not the phone or internet side). My "deal" is bad connections, outrageous bills and crappy service. I'm stuck for 3 years. Telus forgive me.

Unfortunately Rogers has the best services, but the WORST billing dept.

If you have a cell-phone with them Jay, that's why they went hardass. Too many people rip-off the big companies, so they treat us all the same.
