Thanx, but I don't celebrate it, so I won't tell you what I'm thankful for, because that would be against what I believe in.
lol im thankful that the other western powers like France and England can look down their noses at America, since they are sooo much more benevolent than America!
thankful my parents loaded up on wine! hehe|

Many people (probably more than the French would hope) actually do reflect on what they're thankful for on this day - I think it's damn important for people to dedicate at least one day a year to think about how much happiness is in their lives. Unfortunately, the eating of a turkey has been associated by those who cannot understand the meaning of our day, as it is so displayed in the media as a tacit tradition and so shunned by "intellectuals" in that regard. It's really too bad that people must immediately think that, for Americans, it's just a day to eat a lot when, in all actuality, each person is truly thinking about what there is to be thankful for on this day. What the media presents is, as usual, just a dim reflection of reality. So don't judge thanksgiving by what has been presented to you through a camera and a commercial, for thanksgiving is a helluva lot more than that for those who actually live it. |

aww, you ALMOST made me look dumb coup. nice try. i was talking about tu-face.
still so desperate to take jabs at me...haven't you found any new hobbies yet? this is getting old.
ok .. it's the day after thanksgiving, and it feels good to have a day off .. hehe .. but i don't know what francetuckers is talking about .. like france and other countries, we all have our melting pot types of people .. i am not talking about the different nationalities that live here, but the different types of people that live here .. the glutenous ones .. the lazy ones .. the brash ones .. the vivid ones .. the lifeless ones .. the ant-workers ..
but it seems the glutenous, lazy, and pompous people pop out more as the image of america, rather than the normal middle class workers surviving to pay extreme utility bills or car payments. i will tell you this .. tv is giving you the wrong image of america.. america is all about working hard to get what we want.. of course we have all the luxuries and amenity services available at our fingertips .. we are all thankful for that .. but there are also locations in america that do not have the same availability lifestyles .. like the slum/ghetto areas .. the country life that is far away from the metropolitian areas.. the areas where average income is far less than the regular median in the united states ..
i don't know about others think about the third world countries and everything, but i do care about it a lot. i do tithe regularly to the church i attend to keep it up, and whenever the church is offering money to help the "little sisters of the poor" or another one i can't think of right now .. i really don't have much luxuries if you're asking me, and i know many other tranceaddicts here don't have much either .. my family and i work hard to the position we are at right now .. we represent one of the many families that own small private businesses to keep us alive, and fight against the constant pressures of big business stealing our customers.. we work hard for our moneyw.. my family suffice with the necessary materials to keep us happy ..
there are many americans that work hard just to get by.. i know many families that couldn't afford the traditional turkey, so they bought the honey baked ham instead (which is not a bad alternative) .. we all give our thanks for whatever we have available at our fingertips and our roofs .. i am not going to get angry at you with your comments, but just say that your ideas of the 'regular' american life is not what you think it is ..
