Bah, this sucks. People should freaking SAY something. If they still continue to sit idley by and do nothing it would be a sad day indeed...

I read about this in psychology class.

It's called "The bystander effect"

Basically, if you're around many people when something like this happens, you're less likely to come forward and do something because all the responsibility is dissipated among all present, as in "look how many people are around, one of them is gonna do somehing for sure."

The odds of someone helping you are actually better if theres less people around you at the time of the incident.

what do u want? canada is filled with pussies. they get stepped on and it will be like that forever.

I know this is a lil off topic but, when i was a kid the door would be wide open and millions of kids pplaying on the streets and nobody worried abt nothing. it was beautiful. u could leave ur door unlock and leave to go out for a few hours and be sure nothing happened or anyone broke in. do u think it was because crime rate was lower or anything like that? nope! its the new generation of parents/ media scare tactics. This shit didnt happen back then because we as a people didnt let other people walk over us. now we hide in our houses, our kids not allowed to play in the streets. and why? because we got scared and let crimnals like these walk over us, and they know they wont get caught now cause nobody has the balls to do anything. People get away with murder nowadays.

and its the new generatoin of parents that are pussies. I think they were pampered too much growing up that they only concern themselves with their own and nothing more. and the worst part is they pampering their kids more then they were pampered.

PEOPLE PLEASE BEAT UR KIDS! (i dunno what that has to do with anything, but beat ur kids still, it helps)

How do people live with themselves. We don't have THAT big a divide between the ghetto and non-ghetto. Detroit has a Ghetto, an area where you call the police and they won't respond for several hours, no public transportation through the area, it's really the "other side of the tracks". We don't have that here, so it blows my mind that these people can witness such a thing and say nothing at all. It's not like they had to come forward at the scene, they could have easily called in by now if they're afraid for their own safety.

This is fucking despicable and horrible! I agree with StereoPrincess... i think we mu5t not be getting updates as quickly as theyre getting them... godwilling, someone better come forward... Its sad to think that whut Cal said about the "bystander effect" is true... i recall learning about it too in psych class With all those ppl witnessing this shooting, it makes the fact that no one will come forward more disheartening. Hopefully these bastards will be caught

On a side note tho, i dont agree with how we all sympathize more with the shooting because it involved an "innocent little girl"... I mean, its just horrible the other man was shoot too! If instead of the young girl, another innocent young woman or man in his or her 20's or even late 80's has been shot instead, is it still not just as much a fucking shame! Absolutely! The innocent death of a bystander is deplorable. Why are we attributing a higher value to a life because of a young age ?? Where is the line drawn across which one life becomes worth not as much as anothers? If ANY fucking one dies (excluding the bastard that commited this crime!), its horrible and resentful and a frigging sad reflection on our society!!

My thoughts go out the little girl and the other man who was shot and their families. I cant imagine whut theyre families are going thru right now.

This is a sad day indeed

You'd think that with all the publicity that someone would clue in by now...

Hahahaha... close, pretty close.

When people are annoyed, they will call the cops on your ass. But when someone pops a bullet in a little girl, as long as the rest of the people are not in danger, nobody's even reaching for the phone. Why bother?

People in Scarbs are so alienated from each other, sometimes I wonder what this area is gonna be like in 5-10 years. A fucken DESERT in which everyone's fighting for themselves, that's what.
