OK guys, thank you very much for a your responses.

Just for future reference, if I ask you a numeric question, like "how many records do you own?" It is no help at all to me to say something like, "A lot". That's just lame, even giving a completely ball-park figure like 200 or 1000 is better than that. Similarly, if I asked for the average number of hours you practice, saying something like "Anywhere from 5 minutes to 8 hours" is useless. Just a broad number is fine, ie. "2 hours".

Alright, thanks again!

Peace

PS. I'll be announcing the winner of the CD giveaway at the end of the weekend!

1) How long ago (in years) did you first start listening to electronic music:
3 yrs - EDM (prog trance stuff)

2) How long (in years) have you owned dj equipment:
14 yrs ago = very 1st setup (gemini belt driven tables w/mixer)
7 yrs ago = 2nd setup (cd players setup)
3 yrs ago = 3rd setup (my current setup)

3) What brand of turntables do you use:
technics

4) What brand of CD players do you use:
American DJ

5) What brand of mixer do you use:
Allen Heath

6) How many times per week (on average) do you practice:
avg for the week = ~30-45 minutes
avg for a month = maybe ~10 hrs.

I will go weeks without touching my DJ junk, but on some days, I will spend about 1-2 hours on my motivated days.

7) How many hours do spend in each practice session:
AVG= 45 mins - 1.10 hour (basically I aim at filling up 1 CD of music so that I can listen and critique myself)

8) How many records do you currently own:
~225

9) How many records do you buy each month:
average over a year = ~7 a month.

some months, I will not buy a single record, while other months, I will buy 30 records.

10) How much money do you spend each month on buying records:
avg would probably be ~100$

11) How much money do you spend each month going out to clubs:
0$ - havent gone to clubs for the past year.

Before I was married, I would probably spend ~400$/month in drinks at the club. Thats for 3-4 club visits a month.

12) Have you ever djed in front of an audience:
yes

13) Do you dj in front of an audience on a regular basis:
not regularly anymore. Actually, when my friend has his house parties (which has been about 2 times a month), he calls me up to spin.

14) How many times per month do you have a gig:
0

15) What is your average payment (in dollars or equivalent) for each gig?
0$ cuz I do not do shows anymore.
but..
between 7-12 yrs ago: range from 100$ - 550$ (clubs, fraternities, weddings, house parties, city community events, .) I've done alot of 150$ shows back in 1993-1995. Mainly fraternity parties and the events at the clubs that the fraternity promotional groups put on. I have never been a 'resident' DJ.
