-- really good songs that vocals ruin...?

Mother's Pride - Learning to Fly
I love the rest of the track, but it has the most annoying vocals ever. I have yet to find a remix of this track without the vocals.
Oh, the vocal version of Agnelli & Nelson - Everyday really sucks too. I'm glad there IS a version without vocals for this one.

Oh I just thought of the worst vocal trax ever made !!!! Anyone heard Mario Piu - Love Game ??? The guy (murice) has the most annoying voice in the world !!! The track is not bad but the vocals are downright garbage.

Fatboy Slim - Star 69
hehehe... leave up to you to decide whether the vocals suit that or not :P
anyway i think a lot of tracks which vocals increase, first that springs to mind is Tenth Planet - Ghosts... that track rocks in all ways.
most jan johnston tracks suit the vocals, and delerium tracks like silence, innocente, underwater etc
and about Ayumi Hamasaki, you have to realise that she's a jpop (japanese pop) artist, not a trance producer so unless you all know japanese theres a strong chance the 'vocals suck'
Dj Tiesto - Close To You is a beautiful vocal track too
ill agree with twilo. i think the vocals in jan johnston - flesh (dj tiesto mix) are good. but the # of songs vocals ruin outweigh the ones they dont by far. if they only made dub mixes for a lot of their songs! they got smart and made one with dumonde vs lange - memory, but personally i like the vocals in memory. they fit in the track.
Satoshi Tomiie - 'Love in Traffic' - that song sucks ass!
And agree with everyone else about Ayumi Hamasaki. Maybe all Japanese trance songs should have the vocals surgically removed from their mixes before they are allowed to be released on the western market
I think the vocals of Ayumi Hamasaki - Trauma (dumonde remix) are kinda cool as long as the bass just play one note. When the bass note changes I think the vocals gets cheesy. The track gets a kind of Eurodance feeling which I don't like.
By the way, I think the vocals in that song sounds a bit like reversed swedish
I noticed a lot of people didn't like the "Sound of goodbye" singer's voice. I think she has got a very special voice and I like it! The lyrics are bad though, "the sound of goodbye is louder than any drumbeat"?? What the hell does that mean?

ok, to give a bit more to my earlier post:

| Vocals + Trance = BAD!!!! There isn't one trance song where vocals add to the experience in a good way (IMO). Any trance song you can name would be much better without vocals. |
(1 of the best tunes of all time!!!).

| Originally posted by TwoHardCore ok, to give a bit more to my earlier post: I personally do not like ANY vocals in trance music. There have been a FEW songs that are tolerable with vocals in it ie: Delerium - Silence (I just love Sarah's voice). I absolutely love 'samples' in trance songs ie: Age of Love - Age of Love = no vocals, only samples = (1 of the best tunes of all time!!!).If I wanted to listen to 'vocals' then I'd go out and buy a Sarah McLaughlin or Tori Amos or Jann Arden et al cd. It's obvious trance does different things for different people. Trance puts me in a different mood, it takes me 'away' from the real world. Adding a vocalist to a beautiful melody ruins that mood for me. I'll bet that of the 300+ trance cd's I have, I couldn't find 5 songs with vocals in it that I like. I'll even bet that all you TA's with all your 100000's of trance songs couldn't find 5 tracks with vocals in it that I'd like. BTW, alot of the songs I see posted as your favorites, or top-tunes I wouldn't even consider trance...but more 'club' type. A perfect example of what I consider trance is by 'Jungle High - Samurai'. |

Too bad, ruined a great song.
I would LOVE to see BT, PVD, or Chicane work with ENYA or Charlotte Church. I despise house vocals!
Tenth Planet- Ghosts & Guardians of The Earth- 1 Moon Circling SICK VOCALS!
i think satoshi tomiie - love in traffic is an amazing track!! vocals kick ass... some i thought that were ruined by vocals, riva ft. danni - stringer, ewww, and then gouryella - wallhala (vocal mix) just reeks...

Sorry but I totally disagree with that. I think vocals often make the songs better. Ayumi Hamasaki's original songs are great. A lot of you only know the remixed versions, that's why you would prefer them without vocals. But when you know and like the original ones, the remixes -with the vocals- are really marvelous for you!
Another example is the En-Motion 'Broken Wings', which would probably not be so good if the vocals were off...

. I have those tunes and i dont understand japanese
i think that's partially the problem, although i dont have a problem with japanese vocal. They are good trance tracks though, but I think there should be a fine line when too much japanese vocals becomes too poppy danncy

Somehow it seems out of place . But there would be something missing without it. The voice isnt so bad, just change the stupid words. |

A cheesy sounding vocalist produces cheesy vocals. Any track w/ vocals by Jan Johnston, Sarah Mclachlan, Tori Amos are golden. BT has a gift for making incredible vocals. |
