*edit*

Actually I have to admit that when I went to Melbourne I hated it. The weather was dismal & overcast the whole time, the people were all rude & snoby & I lost all my money at the casino!!

Posted by Trance Nutter on Dec-07-2004 03:24:

Gotta agree actually, lots of snobby people around Melbourne. I mean, what do you expect when one of their catch-phrases for tourism is Me!bourne.

Some people staying in the same apartment complex as a mate were mugged in a park, next to a main road, about 100 metres from the apartments, at 2 in the afternoon.

In Adelaide, we may be slow and a bit behind, but at least we're nice.

You guys ever been to Hahndorf near the Adelaide Hills? That place kicks ass.

Adelaide is pretty cool....very nice beaches, and that big pub right on the beach (can't remember the name, tram goes right past there) is awesome. And they have Coopers on tap

Haven't been to Hahndorf in quite a while, but theres a butcher up there who sells the hottest salami you could EVER have, I think its called the Ring-burner

Theres a couple of decent pubs down at Glenelg, theres the Pier and Pines under the Grand, good place for hotties
Theres that other pub (name escapes me) just by where Jetty Road turns parallel to the beach - I think that ones the one your thinking of. A few nice bars in the new Holdfast Shores area too, another good place for hotties.

It's funny you say that. i lived in WA for a few years & they dont sell Coppers over there. Dont get be wrong; they sell coopers but it is usually kept in the pricey import section of the fridge! > Pale ale is teh greatest.
Farmer Union Iced Coffee is another great SA invention (& again it is no where to be seen around the rest of Australia- which is a shame really)

Handorf - my parents live near there; they live in teh ever growing Mt Barker. Great place; though a pretty touristy place now.

Alice Springs, wasn't it there where the "Flying Doctors" were? Used to watch that show as a kid!

The UFO episode was the best, since I had started watchin X-files just recently.

actually when I think of it, I've seen lots of great kid shows from aussieland.

um, do you mean Queenstown, or QueensLAND?

Because Queenstown is in New Zealand, and its not all that big, its mainly known for extreme sports.
Queensland (which is the one I think you mean) is the state that Brisbane is in.

Well, Melbourne people will say Melbourne (which is one stuck up arrogant place, and cold all the time), Sydney people like Waxology will say Sydney, and Adelaide people like me will say Sydney too. Nah, Adelaide is a pretty good place, smaller than the other capital cities, easy to get around, cheapest city in Australia to live. We have a solid club scene, but not huge and not really much choice, and we often miss out on international djs that Sydney and Melbourne get. As for the unis, Adelaide has three which have a strong focus on international students.

Adelaide unis:
University of South Australia (UniSA)
Adelaide University
Flinders Universtity of South Australia

Come to Sydney University.

It is the oldest, largest and most respected university in Australia

It rocks!

Posted by Petrogad on Dec-07-2004 14:46:

cheers, already started looking into programs for next year

I've seen water rats, but I'm thinkin of more shows for children. Like in that where a guy comes to another dimension because of a power surge and there are "magicians" there (although they use magnetic suits) but they are called something special. And then there's this bitch that want to rule the kingdom and stuff like that. Can't remember the name now.

Edit:

Googled some and found out the name! Spellbinder!

also found another show:

Ocean Girl

There were others too.

I'm wondering if these shows are australian too:

A kid falls from a tree while playing around and falls into coma. Then he has these dreams about another world populated with only kids.

And another one was, about a girl who infact was an alien (she had two hearts, 4 lungs etc) and this old lady nextdoor is infact an alien too, vice general or something like that and she was there to protect her.

Good stuff..

I remember those shows!!!!

Posted by G`Dave on Dec-08-2004 10:39:

Bwahaha... Ocean Girl *shudder*

Anyways, I object to this speak of melbourne being full of arrogant wankers.
