Why not abandon your medications?

I suffer from schizophrenia and social-phobia, so I need them to function.

Ok.

Do you have problems with overcoming those fears yourself though? What exactly triggers your panic attacks. With what, erm, little I know about you, Im not sure if you need the drugs, or if they were just shoveled to you as a cure-all solution. In America, this is pretty typical. I dont know how the situation is in Canada (if thats where you are), but I cant imagine it's radically different.

Do you feel most yourself when youre using what is prescribed?

Heh, you know who I am. How many crazy Canadians do you know? Take a guess who I am, just don't post it here. :p

Anyways, I sort of accepted drugs as a cure. Theres lots of other options to help, and I didn't like any for whatever reason, the most being they were to social (group discussions, talking with psychatrists).

I'm able to easily walk down the street and talk to anybody these days, it's just the paranoia related to the schizophrenia (I suffer from paranoid schizophrenia) which causes the lack of socializing. If it weren't for that, I'd be out with people and going to parties. So I let the drugs temporarly 'fix' me.

however, lately i've come to realize that sometimes when i'm up far later than i should be, i end up kinda enjoying the random delerium that comes with overexhaustion
i was just watched futurama, which i've always liked, but god, it was hilarious
and right now i'm listening to Deadsy/Deepsky - The Mansion World [Deepsky's Trippin' in Unknown Territory Mix] and omggggg its blowing my mind
i can finally just sit and concentrate on one thing when i get to this point, even if its completely irrelevant and useless, as it often is
i always used to consider myself a very low energy person, but i feel like i usually have too much mental energy to concentrate on one thing unless i'm really interested in it (ADD, what have you, never liked having a scapegoat because 99% of the time i can overocme it by myself)
and even though i sat down to start this paper about 10 hours ago, and i'm really just started to actually do any serious work on it, i feel like i'm focused and ready and i'll probably be done in an hour or so
can anyone else relate or am i just the odd one out here?

So you're the procrastinator, watcing toons or anything other than getting the work done. I take it you're not cranking either, so you have no reasonable exuse to keep those hours. Just simply learn to do it, bud. Real life is no different with it's suspenses at the workplace. You've got to deal with the pressure. Trust me, it's pretty intense in my job. For instance, I'm writing now because I already spent 12 hours on the job earlier and need a break. Don't normally spend those kinda hours working, but you gotta put in the time when it's required.

Understood. I had a good idea about a month ago, but I tried not to say too much. Anyways, at least something is working. I guess a temporarily solution is better than no solution at all. And Im glad that something is there, more than nothing.

I know what you mean, I'm a sophomore in college. College students probably have the most fucked up sleeping schedule of anyone. You need something like 4 weeks of regular sleeping to get back to normal, and I don't think I've had a normal sleep pattern since elementry school lol.

The past month or so has been extra fucked up. Two all nighters (one Red Bull induced, one school work induced), woke up at 4am for a flight a week ago (after going to sleep at 1am), and even in my totally sleep deprived state I've been waking up at 8am sometimes, I think due to anxiety. This can't be healthy

Indeed. I was on Paxil before and that cured my depression, so drugs do help, even if they are over-prescribed.

HEH
