The real question is:

Can both sides of the issue (drug-use) conduct a civilized debate without falling upon cliche'd (sp?) arguements. Ie: all drug users are crackheads or non-drug users are close-minded people.

I'd seriously like to see an honest debate on the different reasons why people choose to do drugs or choose to abstain from drug-use. I dont think it's possible on these boards tho

Drugs are everywhere - just about anything has a potential to be a drug - it all depends on how you use it. Didn't you guys ever see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? Notwithstanding the LSD wallpaper, the movie was (in one way) a metaphor for immoderation in our indulgances - to the children, chocolate was the drug, and their choices were what led to their downfall.

If we're talking about 'contraband' here, then you're going to have to be a bit more specific. Though I'm sure that somebody from Holland knows that most drugs are illegal in America, certain views differentiate the two contries' policy regardless. If anything can be a drug, you have no choice but to bring this thread into involving specifics.

I only use caffeine (too much, lately) and alcohol (too little, lately).

Before using drugs, I would've voted NO. Then curiosity and peer pressuer got the better of me and I would've voted YES. Now after using for a while and trying to stay clean I vote NO. No wins.
