-- So then... any ideas for the next remix competition?

I'm agreeing with the concensus that choosing one of the trance 'classics' would be boring and that it'd be difficult to be creative with them.

Vocal track would imho be better since vocals generally don't dictate how tracks sound as much as a melody does. For instance it would be hard to remix 'Airwave' into anything other than trance, trancey breaks or maybe chillout since you'd have to use the big string melody to make it Airwave. With a vocal tune though, you can normally twist them into any style you want.

Although saying that I do quite like the idea of taking on a classical-esque piece a la Lord of the Rings soundtrack.. like what Cass & Slide did with Glad I Ate Her (although that was from Gladiator, but you get how I mean). If anyone has any specific track suggestions in that field then I'll def look into them

Oakenfold did one didn't he? Actually two I think. I dunno... if it was a U2 song I'd personally prefer 'Where the Streets Have no Name'...

remixing a big classical piece is def a good idea. theres one melody from the lord of the rings that ive always had my eye on remixing just never got round to it. Think its called Flight To The Ford btw

i like the u2 - beatiful day idea for a remix... No need for vocals for that, enough melodies on the background of the original... Just fetch the midi file and you've got a start.

Hey guys...
We dont do remix aight? I have an Idea...
First of all sorry, no offense of anything.. just an idea...

Seem to me Trance always come from western music.. n yeah Trance comes from the WEST... n this TA forum is so INTERNATIONAL.. i can see Flags from Different country here...

What about something different.. we make a theme/anthem or what ever u call.. something for example like some Theme from Asia such as China,Japan,Taiwan,HongKong,Indonesia,Malaysia etc... The Middle East such as Arab n etc... From what i see for example: Lord of the ring *truly, no offense alan * is from the west.. it maybe common for Trance.. Trance usually come from that type of theme.. What about something different... Apart from WEST.. There are alot of Tribe in this world.. so why not spread trance everywhere...??? Make a remix of it.. a theme...????? Does it make sense ???

ok thats just an idea, no offense... PEACE for all nation

CHEERS PPL!!

Got the exact name of the accapella? I'm trying to find it on soulseek but have had no luck.

Posted by Bren-F on Dec-19-2004 23:39:

I'd definatly prefer remixing a non-trance track !

not sure what though

Posted by isoterra on Dec-20-2004 13:04:

I've just had an idea, and if I can pull it off then I'll use it... but will probably require someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to extracting vocals using phase inversion. I'll have a read up on it and try but may end up asking for help at some stage

Posted by Luke Terry on Dec-20-2004 13:33:

any chance of getting the happiness happening acapella please

Posted by The Drow on Dec-23-2004 20:06:

Posted by GT357 on Dec-25-2004 06:48:

please no u2. there are a million and one u2 songs remixed into trance. i'm trying to think outside the box so my suggestions are....

vocals: anything by outkast, clanaad, or donna summers
instrumental: bt- fibonacci sequence, joshua ryan- fury

I've always thought about remixing an old donna summers track. I really dig her voice.

Posted by KilldaDJ on Dec-25-2004 22:16:

the rasmus - in the shadows ROFL

heard that on tv a while ago, could be possible trancer LOLO

Posted by Vizay on Dec-26-2004 03:59:

wouldn't it be really cool to remix an old classic euro track?

I'd put my vote on either that or remixing the theme from a famous but not very expected movie like maybe the pink panther )

OR we could just do a very stupid thing wich would be to remix BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER BADGER MUSHROOM MUSHROOM (yes I am very tired right now )
