I think steam is awesome, being able to install all your games on any computer w/ internet without any CDs.... thats awesome

Steam is cool for just dl-ing ur games, but I prefer a hard copy, so I know where it is...somewhat...and I don't have to dl and take forever...

ahh but the version where you have to download the game from the Valve servers with the coupon you get, you have to. I guess its works with that, sorry for confusing people.

Posted by parad0x on Jan-26-2005 15:18:

the only reason why steam tries to connect to the net is because i will always try to automaticlly download updates thus eliminating the hassles of patching

Posted by TigerClaw on Jan-30-2005 07:18:

Is anyone having trouble connecting to steam?, All day it wouldnt let me connect to the service.

Posted by TigerClaw on Jan-30-2005 10:46:

Well, Looks like they fixed the login issues with steam, I was able to connect back on it.

wrong

I didn't have any problems with hl2 and hl2 dm when updating files and installing/unlocking. It took a long time though (about 1 hour) There was some sort of error when launching CS source for the first time so i skipped it for now
