yeah guess you dont necessarly have to be a nice poster on ze internet forums and good producer at the same time
it affects my view on a song tho if the guy/girl is an total ass, irl or on the internet no matter how good the song is

great song Mr.Mystery! This is top notch production! A climax in this type of song would've ruined it, I'm glad you didn't have one.

Good luck in the Army

great stuff Nik.
good use of percs and excellent bassline. nothing to complain about.
good luck in the army

very nice track again nik...

i liked this more than random acts of noise pollution

that piano... seems so mellow, yet so interesting... sorta like ancient greek or roman or something.. (i've been playing that rome total war game lately... so maybe it's just me)

and the work you did with the mastering and percussion, kick is done well.

Sounds neat Nik, I like its vibe - sounds almost loungy at some points.

Good luck in the army and see you soon

Heh, finished my 10 month long mandatory service in Norway this August. It sucks to be dragged into something against your own will, but I actually had a better time than I expected.

About the production, I can't find much to fault. Technically it's great. The only thing I didn't like was the use of those NASA samples. But then again I usually have something against the use of talking samples in songs.

Good luck in the army

Waht i dont like is the clap though which seems really basic

Outstanding job, perfect... But aaaaahh, that clap!! Change it, maybe record some reverbed gunshots while you are in the army???

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Dec-22-2004 02:26:

No.

Hahaha.

National service huh? (Assume it is still in Finland). You will have lots of fun and some great stories afterwards.

Back to the tune...

Great percs (as expected )

A very modern tune imo. The kind of stuff you see on TV and in computer games.

Very cool incidental Music.

Hope you have lots of fun during service...

Martin.

i dont usually listen to trance but this is pretty cool stuff...not cheesy trance like most shit seeing light nowadays...did you ever think about sending this out, perchance having it signed to some label or other?

Posted by ProjecT Cali on Dec-22-2004 17:38:

sorry i haven't read previous oppinions but i'am wondered if it is yours vocal?? If it is then grats for ya The tune is not bad - it's quality and mastering are okBut...yeh..but it doesn't make my heart beat stronger:/ sorry...it is also too long for me and has very simple melody which is played all over the track...
i am lookoing forward to hearing your next production...greetz..

Do you know the song: "VNV Nation - Genesis"?

Hey websley, I just thought the same.
But there are so many songs, which have used this sample before.

I do remember Mike Oldfield using it on his album "The songs from distant earth" in his song "Let there be light".

But nevertheless, I love your tune, Mystery. The perfect song for an ending. Really nice, like a kiss on your ears. And there is no fake dramatic in it. I just think its a real good choon.

I'm feeling for a big review right now Haven't done one in a long time.

Writing as I listen:
- Nice intro. Good FX's. Kick sounds perfect, and I like the atmosphere.
- At 00.31 you added a conga. It's ok, but you should pitch it so it fits better, cuz it's playing at a completely different tone than everything else.
- (Currently at 1.30) This is nice. Very nice percussians going on here. Nice samba-feel to it with all these claps and stuff
- Ok, here's a little break. Hmm.. This is the vocals from "DJ Quicksilver - Let There Be Light" Or something... This break is a bit long, imo, and the melody isn't very catchy or anything...
- I recon the bassline is very housy.. You should add a second-bassline in addition to the first, imo.
- (04.17) More speaking here... Wow, acidline coming here! Nice But still, I don't like the mainmelody, hehe...
- Ok, now the track is unbuilding. I was impressed by some good percs and FX's, but melody-wise it didn't impress me at all...

Overall: 6.5\10

A song named Genesis as an encore (even a rework) seems deliciously ironic.

I love the melody. It's very sublime.

I like it. Very nice and chilled. Good work.
