The problem with people is that imo(i wish there were numbers to this) more people listen to music at home, and not in clubs. Because its to expensive, to loud, to many snotty people, lazyness, underage(wich is probably a good majority). Musical taste is obviousely going to differ. If you want to take it a step further people that don't purchase tracks shouldn't even be allowed to post on ta. That would solve a lot of problems. The only top 20's i will really agknowledge are the people that i know spin vinyl, or have been listning to edm music for an extended period of time. Music is different when you actually have to listen and pay attention to every beat and note in a track. When you are spinning sometimes it can take 5 seconds to know a track is produced like crap. do you spin? |
didnt santa come visit you this year?

Thanks for the laugh.
wtf are you talking about? are you on drugs? kosmas isnt a nobody hes just new in the buisness. he might end up being great or being a nobody and you cant compare 2 producers like that... most of you havent even heard his tracks. you can only compare kosmas with liebs early worksif you want to be fair.
anyways hes not producing my style but i like it.
oh... and if i were you id ask santa to get me a life for xmas

If you think Kosmas Epsilon belongs to the mcprog group then you're just blinded by being part of the super-cool-bad-boys-gay-combo who marks everything they don't like as mcprog and have no fucking clue of what actual progressive is.
Oliver is good, one of my favorite producers no matter how irrelevant that could be these days, but he also recycles sounds and even melodies like most of the big producers out there. He has produced an amazing shitload of works but quality was generally intermittent. Is well known that Lieb has amazing skills when producing, but not only because he's been producing for more than 20 years then should he be considered a god.
I can see why Kosmas was compared to Lieb specially when young Kosmas just released, in a period shorter than 6 months, several tracks that CAN be compared to most of Lieb`s masterpieces (i.e. Innocent Thoughts & A Dream) due to their amazing melodic complexity and original sounds.
So far nobody said Kosmas was better than Lieb neither, the thread starter simply asked if he was a young reminiscence, but the fisrt two idiotic replies sent this thread to hell.
The only fact than can be said for sure is this: this year at least, Kosmas was far better than Oliver.
I doubt Oliver Lieb gives a rat's ass what people think of him. Lieb does'nt give you the same formulaic tripe as others often do. I think for anyone to come close to Lieb, you have to achieve something special and no producer these days comes close to what he did.

My personal opinion about Kosmas does'nt matter. I don't see Kosmas making tracks like the early Oliver Lieb did. Oliver Lieb's early days were special, he showed he had that something extra special about him. I'm not saying Oliver Lieb is the greatest thing since sliced bread but his history speaks for itself. People can argue about Kosmas and Lieb till the cows come home, I honestly don't care but Lieb has done so many styles, so well that he deserves massive props either way.

I don't know about torontotrance, but personally for me it would be Spicelab - Planet Spice. If you have a short attention span the perhaps Taucher - Happiness (Spicelab Remix).

well...i didn't read this thread because i'm sure most of the people in it have nothing really to offer...
but i just wanted to say that in order to be the new lieb...you have to be super versitle...you have to produce techno, trance, prog, house, psy stuff etc etc...and in that regard...i don't think Kosmas would fit the criteria...
