Christ - 45,000 unexpectedly die in a matter of minutes in another country, but when 5,000 die in a terrorist attack, the entire fucking country decides that it's worthy of a bumper-sticker empire. I wonder just what the measure of a single human life is to people anymore. |

I was at work for a 13 hr boxing day shift and my boss comes into the warehouse at 4:30pm and says check out the tv section, we had BBC on. I was speechless and some of my co-workers phoned home (like their real homes) because they had family near the areas, they are all ok. This shows how we are at the mercy of mother nature at times. My prayers and sympathy goes out to all affected, especially around Christmas time.
12 000 dead is worst than 9/11 :P
Very sad news.....
Compare to those Hurricane's we got in FL, the hurricanes are nothing
At least we have warnings, these ppl don't

Damn damn sad....

actually the weird thing here is that I watched a show on Tsunami's and mega-tsunamis (not the ones caused by earthquakes but large islands falling into the sea) just 3 or 4 nights ago, they've predicted that one of the canary isles (where I holiday) called La Palma is slowly falling ionto the sea and if it does, a tsunami about 20 times the size of this will devastate the entire east coast of the usa if it happens.
I know there have been disasters that have taken more lives before...but have any been as widespread as this one?
Indonesia, Malaysia, Somalia, India, Sri Lanka etc etc....
Even the west coast of Australia felt an increase in ocean swell (from what I heard)
