yup, same opinion here.
what is missing also is the hard fast attack, of which only very few softsynthis are capable of. |
I don't think the attack of the Adventus is bad, but could you and everybody else please post a list of the VSTi's that do have a hard fast attack?

Nobody's dissing the pro 53, just v-station. IMO its great for basses but thats about it. Its sound is just thin and cold. Pro 53 has the best analogue emulation i've heard in a softsynth.

i was thinking about dropping $30 on adventus, but after hearing about its shortfalls I am rethinking it. Unofortunetly I don't have the funds to buy pro 53, so are there any other softsynths that sound good but are under $100?

Just tried the demo to Ultra Analog.. sounds a lot like a jp-8000.. the bass isn't quite as good.. and it can't do a supersaw as well.. but everything else is VERY similar..

you havent tried impOSCar then?
i tried the ultra analogue demo out. cpu load is crazy. i could coax some nice sounds out of it but...it was a pain having to render everything. and rerender everything multiple times over when i wanted to make minute adjustments to the texture of the instrument. this is also the primary reason why i went for impOSCar over reaktor session. even low poly patches in that seem to eat 25% of my CPU straight off.
adventus can really tear into your cpu if you are working with all 6 oscillators, and especially when you strike large chords on certain patches. but for $30...if you have tried it out and liked it i dont see how you can lose out. i quite like adventus. the more i use it, the more stuff i figure out i can do with it. i hate the gui though. the rotaries and sliders are small and fiddly. but the sound is right at the front and it cuts through an existing mix. which i find is a unique characteristic that very few synths i have can do straight off.

but it's still the softsynth which is capable of the best supersaws imho. they don't sound static like in almost all other synths..

my cpu load was mega low
highest it went was 5 with 2 instances open.
the more and more im using this VSTi the more im loving it, very good for bass i think.
