yea but, this just isnt another year for peyton, he's something very special this year. offensively, they make the best adjustments ive ever seen, i think that offense is unstoppable, even against pitt and the pats. and they way that they call all these penalties on defensive backs this year, they make it impossible to play the position.
who else can beat philly in the nfc?? maybe atlanta, i can def see that happening.

He just has a LONG history of gagging: Recap of Peyton's career starting when he was a QB for the Tenessee Volunteers 1994 - Loses to hated rival Florida, loses in citrus bowl (not a major bowl game) 1995 - Loses to hated rival Florida, wins in gator bowl (not a major bowl game) 1996 - Loses to hated rival Florida, wins in citrus bowl (not a major bowl game) 1997 - Loses to hated rival Florida, wins in citrus bowl (not a major bowl game) Gets drafted in the 1997 draft, now with the Indianapolis Colts: 1998 - Tenessee finally beats hated rival Florida and wins a national title over Florida State in the Fiesta Bowl with TEE MARTIN as their starting QB 1998 - Struggles his rookie year 1999 - Peyton's coming out party...loses to Tenessee Titans in the first playoff game of his career at the RCA Dome(Colts had a bye that year) 2000 - Peyton has another great season...loses to the Miami Dolphins in the wild card weekend at Miami 2001 - Misses playoffs 2002 - Peyton has yet another great season...loses to the NY Jets in the wild card weekend at Giants Stadium 2003 - Peyton has yet another great season...FINALLY wins his first playoff games shellacking Denver at the RCA Dome...then wins another by shellacking Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium...however he gags against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game at Foxboro 2004 - Peyton has the best season ever for a QB......to be continuted |
i don't think that peyton gagged in the afc playoffs last year.
you have the NE corners who mugged the receivers hence the rule changes this year that opened everything up.
you have a somewhat mediocre indianapolis defense which tony dungy is still trying to mold the way he likes it.
keep in mind NE was lucky to win week 1, because of edgerrin's two costly fumbles deep in NE territory. this was in foxboro so i think the colts have a good chance against NE. they just have to play to score on every possession and (duh) not give away the ball.
in defense of manning, football's a 53-man team sport. QB spot is magnified but if others aren't doing the job, the QB can only do so much.
