progwhores

Even what Richard D. James has accomplished through the years is MUCH better than: Zabiela, Sasha, Digweed, LEFTFIELD, you name it! (click the samples in my sig if you don't believe it!)

Shows what a narrow minded person he is.

I dont need to know exactly how he thinks, and what he ate for breakfast. Although he probably doesnt think much, judging by his blank expression, and he probably had Bauernfruhstuck for breakfast.

However him bashing Country music was what I am getting at. I can't stand the stuff, but most country artists are alot more talented than the average EDM producer. Its simply narrow minded to bash such an established genre of music, which is loved by a large amount of people (yes, it goes further than the southern states apparantly)

But again, I cant stand the stuff.

I do listen to progressive, yes. Zabiela is (currently) my favorite DJ, yes. But I listen to alot of other stuff, but I'm tired and can't be bothered listing everything.

You suck.

Why is it that young people are easily entertained by simple pop music? Because they have bad taste. How come babies don't like russian caviar? Because they have bad taste. How come all most new listeners start out with listening to trance? Well... I could go on, but I'll just advise you to stop being so stuck on trance ('cus it sure seems like you are), it's not everything. The more experienced you are with something, the better you can judge its quality.

Dave Clarke is a pompous,self-righteous and arrogant cockwank. No doubt his skills are good, but the dude has serious attitude problems.

How so? It's more complicated than that. There are many factors that can impair judgement such as bias, ignorance, intolerance, and emotion. All of which can still exist with experience and potentially taint ones judgement.

Due to these possible variables I personally would not consider your statement true when used in any argument(except as a premise in an argument about experience and judgement). It really has nothing to do with proving your point here anyhow, that your taste in music is better than certain others.

Your analogy was pretty much true I would say. But it won't do a very good job of convincing people that trance is for beginners, being as all we have is your allusion to that and no actual evidence.

Of course, and that's what I mean. People are so stubborn. :/ And I'm not saying I know everything, but atleast I'm open to pretty much any kind of music.

isnt dave clarke the one that was asking trance djs to stop playing techno?

Posted by naxus on Jan-08-2005 10:54:

I'm a newbie here @ tranceaddict, and I'm also a nOOb in the world of trance [I listen to trance music from a little more than one year...].

But I want to ask you one thing: WHY a person who hate Trance should post in here?! This is TRANCEaddict... not TECHNOaddict or OTHERPROGRESSIVEaddict...!

Ok, it was wrong for me to bash al of this music, but can't you understand that the difference between IDM/Drill'Nbass & progressive House/Trance are MAYOR? Ow, man... I was about to ask myself if I could ever listen to music that (at least seems to be) so boring... Maybe I need to take a good look into the prog-side for a change, cause you can probably tell me that it's got nothing to do with 'boring'... And now I'm like:

*EDIT* I mean, both styles are trying to push the limits to be MORE inventive and sounding MORE impressive... But yet then, I love the headfuck music if I'd make a choice It's not trying to build up/break down, in a way

Posted by Ory on Jan-08-2005 17:12:

Dunno what kinda prog you're talking about when you say "boring" (probably Digweed can't say much about him, haven't seen him live).

What's you favourite rock band?

Indeed, Digweed... But also Sasha has its boring stuff now and then. What I mean is that it's good for progressive house fans to keep those eyes open for other inventive styles of EDM that arn't that monotonous. Styles that contain just as much musical variation as ordinary pop-songs (only in musical aspects), but thus being inventive with it! Progg always works his way UP and with that, it's pretty monotonous sometimes. Inventive, but monotonous.

Before I got into EDM I listened to stuff like Audioslave/Rage Against the Machine. Nowadays I enjoy REM, and some other stuff here and there.
