Armin is a pretty good mixer, regardless of opinion of his style. I've never heard him perform any turntablism and don't think he should be involved in scratch clinics, but who knows.

They should have someone like himself, Digweed, Sasha, or Sander K do a segment on mixing and a Swamp, Cubert, Craze, etc... for scratching and turntablism.

IMO.

his mixing is awkword, he beatmatches fine, but it seems like he maby doesnt know the tracks hes playing beacuse he looses energy in his mixes...

Exactly the point I was just about to make. Yeah we all can sit here and debate why or why not Armin should have been picked for the topic of scratching because we all know more about EDM in general than most (especially here in the States where it's not nearly as popular as in Europe), but the most important aspect of it all is the exposure it gives to the genre.

there has to be some sort of copyrigt infringement on that right?? i will save that for another day if i find out more.. anyways, my whole point of this thread was point out the fact that the US is slowly coming around to EDM in some fashion. But i do agree with most that he wouldnt be the best to teach..

Recently Armin commented on one of the world scratching competitions,he said it's all about having your own style, he didn't say you have to mix like that exactly to be a proper DJ
(do mad scratches and spin 360� on TTs while juggling vinyls behind your back), just to be unique, hence he has his own style, and I reccon that's what's on page 42. if you don't like it, don't read it.
