Got there while Tom Slik was on. Really enjoy what he brought.

Steve was awesome in his first 1 hour, 35 minutes or so, then he just got repetitve and boring. I blame this one the short ass two hour set time he had so he had to kick things up way too quickly to go out with a bang. It just didn't work, IMO.

The crowd was a bunch of 21-going-on-15 year olds. I know a bunch of you are probably going to slam more for saying that, but seriously, it was like a bunch of rabid kids jumping around on the floor dancing to anything - or in a couple of cases, nothing (as in, it was essentially silence, yet a bunch of people would be jumping around at a rate of about 200 jumps per minute). Talk about a crowd being "loaded." Sheesh. Learn to control yourselves.

Personally, I could care less if you are jumping around. But please, learn out to jump in one place instead of swinging three feet to each side running everyone and their mother over and acting like it's OK to do so.

I was asked if I had a certain substance (and I'm not talking about designer stuff) four times within an hour, and in my almost 5 years of going to Ten15 I had never been asked once before.

I'd give it about a 6 out of 10. It would probably be a 9/10 if I didn't feel so damn old. Even my 21-year old girlfriend felt like she was at some 9th grade dance with 80s music going on.

We left right after Steve finished because we couldn't take the crowd anymore. Wish it wasn't the case, as I really wanted to listen to Dyloot on the decks. Know a bunch of people who left in the middle of Steve's set because the crowd just made them feel so out of place.

is this a all age event or 21+ event

Posted by DaveT on Jan-17-2005 06:40:

It was 21+, but it felt all ages.

It is largely because Skills was involved, from what I am being told. They tend to bring out the type of crowd that was there last night.

We get Blank & Jones on Feb 19.
And hell, me might even be getting Agnelli & Nelson. Nothing for Feb 26 has been announced by any promoter yet.

Feb 12, we get Ronski Speed, too

Skills really didn't have much to do with the event up north, Tom & Dyloot were asked to play and to sell event tix at their location and their vendors' locations. If this was a Skills event, I highly doubt it would have been at 1015.

Cheers...

Well, I'm just going by the evidence.

The Ten15 booking people were not there. I didn't see one of them. It looked like Skills hosted Steve around town.

Skills has done nights at Ten15 before where it was Ten15 in control and there was no presales at the various stores in those cases. I think the stores selling tickets was just another indication it was mainly controlled by them.

Fact is, it was still a young-ass crowd. Everyone I talked to who has been to many skill events (@ 21+ clubs) says it was a typical Skills crowd. Even a couple of people who has played with Skills in the past told me that. I have never seen at Ten15 that was even remotely as young (or should I say, immature?) as the one there Saturday night.

I don't think its coincedence.
