I love my Stanton DJ Pro 3000's.

Great sound, great design, and they're damn comfortable.

But...I'm on my second pair (warrenty replacement) because of the faulty design on the swivel. I believe the second pair I got was better held together and they've been working great

Well, me personally have tried numerous different pairs of headphones....starting from the first pair i ever got (sony mdr-v150's...�12.50 from Argos lol ) through to my latest pair of headphones of which i have had about 2months (Stanton pro 3000's and these are brilliant, comfortable and can cope with club use with great ease. This is not due to 1million Db volume levels in the cups (but dont get me wrong they arn't quiet either), but down to the way it blocks out the exterior sound from outside the headphones, which in my opinion is great.

As for the Pioneer HD-J1000's....crap, i know im going to annoy a lot of people by saying that but, i tried them when a friend did me a big favour and lent me his pair of the pioneer headphones as i forgot my headphones as i was in a rush to get to work. The problems i inncurred were that they did not block out the sound very well at all .....as well as this they did not stay on my head to well and as well they were awkward to keep hold of. Due to the fact they never blocked the sound out i turn up the cue, to compensate and the headphones start to distort (cue was on just past half way if i remember rightly on a pioneer djm-600 mixer), very slight but ever so noticeable. These headphones arn't my cup of tea.

The Sony Mdr-V700's were a good set of headphones, comfortable, loud, hold back the exterior sound...buti owned them for about 4months....they then snapped at the joint... ... so never again will i buy sony headphones (as my first pair from argos snapped there too lol ) Sony are good for bedroom use, but start moving them about and they'll break easily.

The sennheiser headphones i believed to be more of a studio set of headphones rather than djing headphone...although it does have very good sound quality, thats all i really know about them as ive neva used them for a set, just to listen to 30seconds of a song...

As for the Technics...not a clue, never seen anyone i know use them or had the chance to use them. if the stantons develop a problem i will probably give these a go.

Also ive been told (dont know myself) that Gemini do good sets of budget headphones....not sure on this though check it out.....

i have since forgotten who this person is (please come forward anonymous one!) but i should say thanks a lot. i couldnt afford the A900s but i could afford the A500s and they blow they living shit out of anything sony make in this price range or anywhere close. christ only knows how much better the A900s sound. check the reviews on audio cubes. seriously amazing headphones. they dont break easy. bass reproduction is *solid*. the highs are not harsh or sibilant and the isolation is good because they cover my entire ear. and they are imho the best looking headphones ive ever seen. i know know why the entire audio technica range of headphones are in the audiophile section on that site.

here are my most recent ones in the last couple of years. Any others i havent mentioned is
a) i cant be assed
b) use the fucking search
c) its 5am
d) they were either shit or shit and not worth mentioning.
(very) briefly:

Sennhesier hd 200- shite. mini jack connection kept cutting left channel after 4 hours use. Avoid

SOny mdrv 700s- drivers built like a tank and sound good enough- great power. Plastic weakness over time due to folding stress. Good workhorse headphones- look after tham and they should last.

Pioneer Hdj1000s- Serious manufacturing faults with most pairs made after the first batch. Argue all you like- this is from a) my experience b) a lot of people i knows experience (professionals) and c) from a few lengthy discussions 'off the record' with peeps at pioneer.
they WILL break at some point- the band will snap above the cup, or one cup will cut out, or the cord will break.
Shame- as they sound fantastic
Avoid like penile warts

Sennheiser Hd25 pro- phenomenal sound- comfortable and very light.warm sound, very clear-
cord is shit and non coiled- and far too short. Small cups that sit on your ears rather than over- if you get on with the comfort, they may be your favourites ever.
Highly recommended

hd25 sp- same as above- except shit headband which the cups swivel on. Nowhere near as comfortable or user friendly.
Same stupid cord.

technics dj1210- bass light, very loose on the ears and very small cups. Good sound however, and i have never seen a broken pair.Splashproof

Technics Dh1200= great sound, but weight is 4.5lbs..... (pioneers are heavy and they weigh about 1lb)...... for those with strong necks methinks. Again, not heard another bad word said about them. splashproof

edit to add: sennheiser 280- Far too big- look cheap, didnt think they sounded amazingly great. pretty uncomfortable- and as many breaking as the sony 700s!

Sony 7506/v6 (NOT V600)- personally in my opinion the best headphones ever made.
i swear by these things now- most comforatble, best sound and very light.
coiled cord, leather headband, easy to manipulate, and a very warm and clear sound matched only be the sennhesier HD 25s. The only thing that lest these down is the material on the earcups (more flimsy than sennheiser 25 pads- which is quite a feat to acheive)

Ive owned the lot- used them night in night out in professional situations, not just a bedroom.

Sony 7506s are what i use- and will continue to do so until i find something better (very doubtful)
i also have a pair (2 actually) of senn hd 25 pros
which i use ocasionally and a pair of sony 700s as back up etc ones. All the rest have either been binned, returned as brokn or sold.

1=Sony 7506/sennhesier Hd 25 pro.
Pick one, buy one, and shut the fuck up.
