I can't give them much respect I'm afraid. Jetlag was good, but that was nearly four years ago and they haven't advanced beyond that. Their sound is extremely boring now, and while I do like Rockin a fair bit, the melody is identical to Astral Projection - Zero... hmm...

Zero is a good word here -- zero creativity.

now respect from me either...their first few productions i loved but then it started turning into generic slabs of crap...its just bad when you hear their new track and go hey ive heard this riff somewhere...

i think thats a bit harsh hehe

the legacy was nice and original

does anyone have any of their records to find out if they credited the original producers of stay and rockin?

It might be harsh, but I don't believe it's unfair.

Actually now that you mention it, I can't stand The Legacy. Not sure how it got so popular... oh and shockingly, the Alphazone remix of that rips off Strange World.

What did Stay rip off?

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Jan-22-2005 23:42:

yea your right i forgot about that lol

stay ripps off

danny lemon - the poem (nordlicht remix) blaitant.. like rockin

Oh come on - if you compare each hookline these days, either if its asotstyle or hardtrance, everything could be a rip off. There are only 12 notes, and there are just a few functional chordchanges that are easy enough for the dumb clubmasses. When it comes to similarities, you could diss a lot of producers....

Alphazone - Rocking (Gil Shwartz Mix)...dunno who the fook Gil Shwartz is, but he's remix of that is bangin' nrg trance

I cannot agree more

if you want to use a hookline.. why not remix the song? or make a cover for it.. (and give credit to the original producer)

its just a dumb marketing scheme.

running out of note combinations is the dumbest excuse ive heard

I did not say people run out - I said its difficult to avoid similarities.
But hey - everything is a matter of taste, and this thread is about alphazone, so you dont like alphazone, I do, thats just it. We shouldnt start a debate of ripoffs and similar sounding hookline here

Posted by mndeg on Jan-25-2005 05:29:

they have a lot of bad stuff and a little bit of good stuff

Posted by rafale on Jan-25-2005 10:53:

I think their remix of The Quest - C Sharp is just to DIE for...
They aren't really my cup of tea at times, but can always count on them, to deliver the uplifting goods

Maybe I had to narrow the quote from Mad-C down to the last sentence 'when it come to similarities you can diss a lot of producers'. Because that's the one I agree the most with. I think it's so rather easy to say: 'Oh...that producer is shite because he/she/they rip off sounds from he/she/they'. Personally I don't care if Willy ripped off Pete's hookline, melody, whatever. If it sounds good to my ears than you don't hear me complain. Personally I am a big fan of energetic, uplifting sounds, and I think Alphazone masters those qualities. We got all different taste's, that's what makes us all different.

who said anything about dissing?

i personally like alot of alphazone stuff.. i like their hard sound

i jus think that they should credit some of the producers whom they've used the ideas from

Hi Folks,

we are members now, too ;-) And read all posts carefully hehe.

To clear up all the buzz and get a direct statement from the producers:

First: All our Alphazone melodies (except Rockin) have been created by ourselves, they have NO similarities nowhere. Instead: The Lemon track was a rip-off of our unique original production! The producer did not ask our publishing rights holder :-(

Second: The only exception: Rockin. But this track was cleared the regular way. It is from Astral Projection and we asked them for permission. But due to big troubles with their publishing company, we have not printed them on the cover, because we were so disappointed, that they started to ignore our mails (the publishing rights holder, NOT AP themselves), right after everything was finished. We got an OK from them via phone and they promised to send confirmation via email or fax, but the company never did. We actually never registered our selves as producers of that track. All our productions were registered at the GEMA, the German company of publishing right holders, except Rockin.

Third: The Legacy. It is true -believe it or not- we just had the same idea like Mike. We didn't knew the track and more: We didn't even knew many MIKE tracks at that time, because it is too soft for our dj style. The main theme of Push is just or A-theme (introduction theme), our main melody is unique and totally different to Push. This intro pattern is a just a short three note pattern, it could often be, that people have similiar ideas for such "small" melodies, that is fact!

It would be something different, if it is a long 16 bar melody with many changing chords and notes, Ligaya for example. No one could tell me, that he had the same idea like this track, or Barbers Adagio.

For the future there are many unique and big projects to come: Watch out. And our style changes radically at the moment, you will see. We will now also head to new directions...

Watch the coming releases on Skywarp Records and Skywarp PLATINUM.

Thanks for you support and hope we could join some nice discussion here from time to time.

All the best
