Well luckily I listen to myself. And I do agree with you that the problem is the government stepping in into our lives, but unfortunately there's way more idiots and irresponsible people in this world than there are smart ones, that if we are given that much freedom this world would go to hell faster than it is now.

The real problem I think, is a government with common sense.

Maybe people turn out as idiots because they're sheltered from the real world.

I make fun of both Canadians and Americans for their voting equally.

I think voting is a rediculous formality. Democracy sucks... someone should be working on a better way to run a society.

SUVs are a hazzard on the road because %99 of the owners don't know how to DRIVE them in various driving conditions or impact avoidance.Someone mentioned that they should upgrade the license from a "G" to maybe a higher grade. Also there was an awful accident a few days ago involving 3 teens in a small car VS an SUV.Needless to say that all 3 teens we're killed while the 2 occupants in the SUV survived

Sorry ladies but my biggest pet peeve is women yackin on their cell phones driving their big ass SUVs...thats just "playing with danger"

This is an awesome idea!

In fact, I think all vehicles should be changed over to run on diesel. It is much more air friendly

I am so glad that people are changing things!! It excites me that finally people are recognizing how much our stupidity is negatively effecting our planet, and that something is being done about it!

I am glad to hear this

Diesel is much more air friendly?

SAY WHAT????

Have you been to cities with primarily diesel cars? Not only does it stink but the air is even blacker.

She is correct. Modern diesels are much cleaner.

Because our diesel fuel here in North America is fucking trash thanks to the oil companies, the diesel cars sold here cannot use the special particulate filters that diesel cars in Europe and the rest of the world have. Diesel engines that VW and Mercedes use here in North America suck - they have to deal with the shitty diesel fuel here. Our diesel has so much sulfur in it... The particulate filters get clogged within minutes.

The Constitutional Republic WAS a better way, until Leftist theory politics invaded the courts and the upper levels of government. The constitution, though, is specifically there to prevent these kinds of stupid laws from being brought into place - and in the USA, it worked for hundreds of years. It's only in the past 20 or 30 years that the constitution has been eroded to enough of an extent that it's possible to make these laws.

It all started with the War On Drugs, folks. That was the key element to marginalizing the constitution. Suddenly, the "unnecessary searches and seizures" clause was irrelevant because every single search was necessary. And once you're living in the "police state" where anybody can be arbitrarily detained, the door is open for all kinds of big-brother laws.

The war on drugs was a tool of the communists, and I say that without a hint of sarcasm or irony. Anybody who can't see that is either blind or deluding themselves. Once you give police arbitrary power, you by definition give the courts arbitrary power and as a result give politicians arbitrary power.

Nullifying that entire branch of law enforcement would be the first step toward protecting actual freedom. Then you could remove last call, over-the-top smoke and noise laws, etc... by then you have set the precedent that people can think for themselves and all of the other big-brother laws will topple in suit.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. In the U.S., the "expansionary" criminal procedure cases occurred in the 1960's and 70's, for example, Miranda. Those cases LIMITED the police power. In truth, there's always been periods of increasing and decreasing police power - it's a cycle. Currently those police powers are increasing, thanks to the Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11.

The expansion of government in the U.S. happened under the West's great quasi-dictator, FDR. He created all sorts of administrative agencies, which started to micromanage our lives.

In Canada, many are to blame, but Trudeau was certainly the worst.

I find that Canadians tend to be pussies, and allow their government to trample over them. When the Lieberals say "I'm going to screw you guys," Canadians say "Great! We don't need lube this time! Here, let me hold my buttcheeks open!" In contrast, Americans tend to be too much like cowboys and only think about themselves.

They need to push fuel cell powered cars/trucks. It is the only way to drive down costs of the fuel cells and thus making it affordable.

The technology still has a ways to go. Don't forget too that fuel cells don't magically create energy... they have to be charged, and the energy to charge them will likely end up coming from fossil fuel burning in the end anyway. To be totally self-sufficient, we need fuel cells that can acquire hydrogen through processes powered by renewable sources.

Diesel on the left, gasoline on the right.

(no bullshit)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Picture worth a thousand words

Modern diesel cars running on cleaner (not north american) fuel is better then gasoline engines

Posted by Jayx1 on Jan-22-2005 18:41:

im sure diesel is cleaner burning for the atmosphere.

That still doesnt change my opinion that IT STINKS!!!
