| I could be way off on this, but I think the real reason that Wink is annoyed with all the personal websites is that every time he sees one, he is reminded of how other amateurs are working just that much harder at getting recognized. |

You just bashed MTV, hypocrite.
Very interesting replies. Thankyou all for participating.. Obviously I dont have to check out peoples profiles but I find it interesting to learn about the social surroundings in my hobby of trance. I just happened to notice the overabundance of new djs promoting a god like image and attitude on their websites with not much experience or difference in tracklist or the way they play compared with other big and small djs. This is interesting because we not only have the music which is trancey but now a whole interactive approach to being "trancey" visually through websites. It seems sometimes like more and more of amature djs these days concentrate more on their visual approach and biography than their actual music. cheez!

I've got a site, but it's ghetto as hell (friend put it together). It's more for a little bit of info and as a joke, in a way. I don't go around promoting it though. It's in my profile, and that's it. Probably shouldn't be either. I'm a much better dj than my website would indicate, but I don't really give a fuck as things either happen or they don't. I'll keep doing what I do and see what happens.
I think you are talking shit this forum should be packed out with djs And music fans whether or not they have their own websites . Do you think all the big name djs all started of as pros ?
Good luck to anyone with their own website at least they are taking the inititive and are into the scene

It seems like sooo many users profiles on Tranceaddict have their little "www.me.com - I'm a dj been spinnin for 2 or 3 years, blah blah blah..i havent started to produce yet but soon enough.. bla blah" Along with some of their pathetic "studio pics" which end up just being some decks and a mixer.. AND THEN.... jesus, whats also mandatory on there websites is pictures of themself posing really seriously like they're fuckin sasha or some trance god off a GlobalUnderground CD. Maybe it's just me.. I just had to say something.. it seems to be getting a bit out of hand. I mean dont get me wrong... I've found a few that are genuine.. but for the most part they seem to be VERY similar.. *shrug* ok flame me. heh btw.. I know this thread isnt very productive.. I just feel like bitching a bit.. -an annoyed addict |

I dont have any problems with that, everybody has to start with something.
I got my site on my signature.
I love how they write their own 'up their own arse' biography, speaking in the third person and then put it on their website.
"Many say that DJ Froggy is the next Sasha, but DJ Froggy knows that Sasha is the next DJ Froggy."
etc.....

I just want to let you know guys that in approximately 3 months i will be starting my DJing career. I will buy some Stanton belt-driven decks and a mixer that comes in this box called "DJ in a box" and it all costs 300$ @ my local Wally mart. Therefore i want you guys to be on the look-out for my abilities. Also look out for my first single. DJ MTO Presents Lakeasha - If You Cared Like I Care We Woul Care The Same (Warmharbour Remix).
Thank you, and my future website will be @ www.GoMtoDJNumeroUno.com
P.M. This is not self promotion.
Belt... drive...?

I'm surprised at the reaction of such promotional websites. Didn't everyone know that to be a successful DJ, you need better PR skills than technical skills?
