AAAAH!! IT'S DRY BRITISH HUMOR! I MEAN HUMOUR!! GET IT OFF MEEEE!

now airwave is a producer - get with the times!

I think its more of a backlash against over the top melodies than it is a true death of trance.

That kind of super emotional music was great music and I still love hearing it, but I think that people who saw us from the outside found the style obnoxious.

Prog is weird, it has the same formulaic trace sturcture alot of the time, yet it is as anti trance as it can get in other ways.

I think it just got really cool to hate on the emotional sound because we all look like such wussies for enjoying it. People still haven't gotten over this idea I dont think so this sleepy grumpy vibe has infected all the playlists.

fuck them though, if there were good emotional tracks out there, I would listen to them.

I'm hooked in the trance scene for years now and i gotta say, its slowly dying
first of all, theres too much prog i think, and more and more coming out by the day, and no more melodic emotional trance? what happened? and dont tell me "it's gotten old and cheesy"
if i put on a track for you, say Rank 1 - Airwave for example, you wont go "o that sucks, that style is old and shitty"
garunteed ull love it! atleast i know i always will
anyways, where are all the melodic trance producers gone to? dont let the trance die so soon, we only been alive for 10 years or so, its too soon ....

what to do?

Trance will never die. The tide is just out at the moment. It is teh calm before the storm. Trance will come back in a year or 2, & hopefully by then it would have evolved into something better. I think trance is way too commercial these days. It all sounds the same to me; all those regurgitated sounds being played over & over. There's not enough experimental trance out there (but that's just my opinion, which makes sense because im saying it; which doesnt make sense because I have not used my vocal chords; which is a good thing because i would have been told to shut up by now; which is a bad thing if you are still reading this; in which case you should stop reading & I should stop typing; in which case i didnt & you didnt; in which case the end?)

I deleted that song once I heard it, the main lead is annoying
(yes, I download the tunes before buying them).

i think emotional trance isn't dying, just evolving as everything...

agreed with others that these days lots of crap stuffs coming out on labels, to be honest i cant really feel the emotions in trance tracks at the moment, and the whole scene going downhill really me thinks, not just uplifting trance but mainly this style, yes.

The main problem now, that lot of producers out there makes tracks because they want to get signed or because the money. They're not focusing enough to their music. Not focusing enough of producing.
I must say that only a few quality release flowing around these days, so the scene needs huge changes to bring back those golden years around 1999 or 2000 we felt.

Overall, i don't think the scene is dying. It just evolving to something, which hopefully will be something amazing, later.

unfortunately, the scene is really down at the moment, at least the uplifting side.

Prog, or more tribal-esque prog, reminds me of slowed down hard house, and I'd rather dance to hard house to be honest, may not be good music, but at least I wont fall asleep on the dance floor

Was Trance ever alive ?, Ive never seen or heard a Trance track played on my local radio or TV station and i can ask 1000 people do they know TIESTO or PVD and they will look confused, People ask me what Music I like and im embarassed to say Trance coz ill know they will imagine i like Scooter or Ian Van Dahl or something. As a young age I have always liked Trance because it had an effect on me i was addicted to Gouryella and Binary Finary and all those classics i could not care about whos at Number One in the Pop chart or who is the Queen of Pop. Trance is a Bedroom Music Genre discovered by the youth of today who inspire Muscial Genious's like Sasha, PvD and Oakie etc.

The whole music industry is struggling as p2p and file sharing is killing the industry, in a way this is a good thing as most of the music today is just POP garbage with a Million Pound Label splasing out on Media just to sell the music, and as for R & B music jesus everytime i turn on MTV the girls wear less and less just to sell the music.

Q. What is Broadband for ?

A. Downloading Music / DVD's & Porn

If Trance Dies Then I dont care i still have all my Mp3's , about 200,000,000 listenning hours.

R.I.P

Reminds me of the Olympics...

News host: "And the DJ playing in the Olympics will be someone called... Tee.. Teesto... Tisto... erm... anyway, he's the #1 DJ. Have you ever heard of him?"
Co-host: "No... what does he play? Techno?"
News host: "Probably... well, we don't really care about this guy anyway, let's talk about the athletes..."

(Brazilians heard it on CBN, a major news station)

Trance isn't exactly dying, actually the sound is changing.

Posted by capricorn15 on Jan-26-2005 17:32:

yea trance already died a long time ago. few good tracks show up now and then. i hear better amatuer trance tracks than pro these days. oh fuckin well, ive been listening to ambient for the past 2 months, so it doenst really bother me that its dying or dead cuz i still have all the old classics i love, so i can listen to those ones if i want some good trance
