-- Tool Fans?
Pages (2): « 1 [2]
My fav band ! i'm a toolhead first, then EDM fan.
I love all the records
I think this calls for a tool alliance :P
I think halcyon on+on also likes tool
Yes, very much so.
Excellent, excellent music - they show a lot of thought and definite skill in what they do. Maynard is a lyrical and vocal genius, hands-down. I'd heard from a friend that he writes his music using mathematical formulas?
Probably just a dumbass rumour, but I don't doubt it, as his work demonstrates a very advanced degree of skill and understanding.
Plus, the guitar work in "Schism" owns me.
Anyone read the inside pamphlet to the "Aenima" CD?
Truly, mind-expanding work. Sort of the rock-equivalent to Aphex Twin.
edit: I don't really make all those faces when I write, I just do it for emphasis.

Have you seen Tool live though?
Im fortunate to have seen both live.
Tool live is an experience. Their musicianship is fantastic. Much emphasis is put on the visuals. I believe their guitarist has a special effects background. The visuals creeped my girlfriend out so much she had to leave her seat.
APC live didn't do much for me. Actually I was quite dissapointed. They didn't hold a candle to NIN who were the headliner. I imagine they have gotten better.
I feel sorry for the members of APC. They have this terrific/sucessful band going and they have to hiatus while Maynard does the Tool thing.
Very much looking forward to the a new Tool album. This is the first Ive heard of it.
Tool has one of the best song writers and one of the best drumers.
WTF is tool? IF its some gay rock band then you all should leave the tranceaddict community you fools!

don't get me wrong, i am a Tool fan but in my book APC has been able to produce so much more quality tunes.
seen tool live once, more of a show feel to it.
APC twice, headlining. a couple of props on stage, but i honestly could care less. maynard's silloute through the early part of the show. the music, its the music that i care for.
the first time i heard 3 libras, i was driving and switched to the local rock station and i heard just the last 40 something seconds of the song.
I was like "who the feck, what the feck, what in the name of feck, who the feck was that!!!!" yes it was love at first listen.
my taste is rather weird i guess. like, i never really care for Metallica. just didn't see what all the fuss is about.
well whatever.
A fan of both Tool and A Perfect Circle, but I prefer Tool more.

nope, i am too much of a good mood to even argue atm.
all i got to say is

I like tool but i likes APC`s style better...Maynard does a great job when doing live acoustic performances..Orestes, The Hollow, 3 Libras..definitely some of my favorite songs ever.

| Originally posted by Joycey I dont see how male vocals screaming into a mic about how shit their life is is any less annoying then some really high pitched female singing about shooting stars or the object of her desire or whatever. After that simply substitute guitars and drums for some cheesy assed dance music and away you go. |
I respect Tool more than I like them; but they have a couple of songs that I really really like. They're a really acquired taste though, so for a n00b like me it's hard to "get" their stuff.
A prefer APC much more. Orestes, Noose and Brena are some of my favourites, but most songs on Mer De Noms kickass. 13th Step was good too, but not as good.
I'm surprised: 3 pages and not one person has come in here with the typical "OMGZZ!!one1! dis iz tranCEAddict!!! rockk suxxxx!!!!1!!"
