the EM version had SOUL!

most trance/prog/edm songs cannot say that. theres something to be said for something that may be a bit rough and awkward. i know i listened to that bit in the EM over and over again. i respect Josh's decision, but its like George Lucas fucking up a movie on a smaller scale. (no josh, you arent george lucas)

what i mean is that the edge makes it all the more endearing. the track was originally concieved[sic] from the ultrasound monitor of his daughter. in turn, that seems to make it an act of love, something impulsive and full of heart -- not -- something that needs excessive retooling so its *perfect* IMHO|

Samples sound great
That Dub Mix is really my thing as I'm not totally keen on those vocals

If I want to listen to Nintendo sounds I listen to Nintendo. Awful.

Each to their own but I fail to hear what's so great about these. If that Carrera mix had been any longer I would have probably fallen to sleep listening to it... I think Mystery nailed it with his Nintendo sounds comment. Vandit strikes out once again..

Posted by dj_alucard on Jan-31-2005 18:35:

wow

what happened to this tune

sounds demolished from its orignal 'EM' mix form.

that happy plinky 'nintendo' riff just does not fly

tis a shame i loved the original flow

eh...yeah, but if releases are only in vinyl, all CDJ DJs like myself cannot get a hold of the release, since they are not in digital form.

Just had a listen to the sample.... i always thought Paul was playing a rework... the version in the essential mix was just so much better

You can buy a copy, digitalize it and burn it on cd

just listened to that sample... there's only one thing that comes to my mind:

WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT F'KIN' AWESOME TRACK FROM THE ESSENTIAL MIX?

i mean - this just sounds like the ice cream van. not like josh gabriel. this version sucks.

i'm so curious about the credits on this one - i really wonder if this was really made by josh or if "some vandit guy" ( ) has anything to do with it.

You have got to be kidding.
The old version was much more uplifting and had heavier basslines and an overall deeper aggressive edge to it ala utah saints-lost vagueness(oliver lieb vocal remix). Except this tune had male vocals. The old version was absolutely brilliant and the buildup was much more memorable.

The new version is utter garbage and the only tune I can really compare it to as far as quality is Super Mario Bros.Theme.
The heavy basslines of the old version were eliminated with sounds of Bumble Bees getting raped.

Old Version>New cheese garbage

finally a vandit release worth buying.

took em quite some time after relicensing tracks which had been relled already

I'm sorry, but comparing either version to Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb Mix) is just wrong.

The sample provided here sounds very weak compared to what I'm used to from Paul's sets though..

BTW Lost vagueness is my alltime favorite tune hands down.

But aside from that...I feel Josh Gabriel went wrong with the final version of the tune and the majority of replies speak for that.

Yes, I feel that their sound in general has fallen into a slump of mediocre tune after mediocre tune, which is a shame because their essential mix was really massive.
