I really liked U2 elevation in that thing strangely enough. I could hear parts of orbitus terranium in there. It was awesome

I have to say im not PVD's greatest fan as i think sometimes he's overated. but save your flaming cuz this album is fuckin amazing. The way he's remixed everything to make it all fit into his style is awesome and the track selection is unfaultable. Congrats Paul you won urself another fan

Peace

Well, I think I may be one of the few people making detractory comments on these sets, but I think the mixing could have been done better. Some of the beats and basslines just fell out. For example, 06 - TBC - Southern Comfort and 07 - Iio - Rapture (Tastes So Sweet)'s transition was very rough, and with little transition of the bassline. It seemed like he neglected the mixing in some parts because he was concentrating on the remixing... Still, it's definitely a nice pair of sets, and had an original concept. I like where this is going, and hopefully Paul will be able to refine this a little when and if he releases another CD.

be quiet everyone who has something bad to say about it... i CRIED! i did. i finally got my hands on it, went home, put it into my stereo and cried! the only 2 cds that ever made me feel like that were Oakeys' Another World CD 2 and Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise 2. now there are 4 cds that do that. Politics is a masterpiece of this century so far

Chalk one more up for PVD....

I was honestly expecting a flop with this cd because i thought Paul's hype would go to his head, but i was very very pleased o discover that i was in fact mistaken *YAY* These two CD's are original, fresh, and awesome! So many good songs, it was like Jules's Quontact set that Swamper posted, i found a new favorite song in it everytime i listened to it!!! My choice of the litter has to be Solicitous - Furthermost, an absolute GEM of a song, can't get enough of the synths in this one. I also LOVED 'Superconscious' and his remix of Elevation.. i think this CD will go down as a true classic in the annals of history and trance... it has made me and many others true fans of PVD.

Dog Running

This cd, has been one of the best trance cds ive ever heard, especially cd 1. The cd is transformed with extra bass, anyone find they had to mae the conversion?

PVD's POD makes me go nuts. Listening to it in my pathfider is getting dangerous. Hearing it brings back so many memories from October 10th at the Guv!!

Posted by Telephus on Nov-28-2001 02:39:

The cd has been out in buffalo for a few weeks. My friend picked it up the first day it came out here and he let me listen to it. It is one of the most amazing cds i have ever heard. I really like his message on the inside of the cover. I think that says a lot about him as a person and DJ. I am going to get it real soon.

Posted by njtvstar on Nov-28-2001 03:11:

A very worth while investment, as are his other Cd's. It's so well produced, and layed out. What else would you expect from PVD? I can't wait until he comes back to the T-Dot. Till then though, I must politic!!!

Posted by Kurve on Nov-28-2001 03:54:

ohh also one more thing i forgot to mention 31 of the 33 songs on there are rmxed or called reworked.... so this can also be called almost an album with all of his production influences on this album

Musik findet ihr auf Politics of Dancing

Lets talk shit . how much equipment and DJ tackle has paul van dyk got in his Shed , i bet over 100,000,000 pounds worth of sweet ass tackle , he could put too records together and sit back and his 5000 pound software could mix it , defining every BPM with eachover , PVD is more of a music producer than a DJ , if you gave PVD , 20 Vinyl's from Hardhouse to Melodic Trance etc , and ask him to mix them straight up could he be as good as you think, i am one of the biggest fans of Paul himself and i ain't calling him, ive read some of the comments in the forum and they are quite interesting , paul has released something like 3-4 big album's , it takes him Years to produce one fukin album , it takes dave pearce 1 day to do a set for virgin records , pvd has done some sweet tunes like for an angel , which is still being played with the new mix of ' found a lover ' which was never released , cause paul didn't want no one to nick his tune , which i belive is quite respectfull, 97% of his fans aint seen him live cause he dj's in New york , but he is very good , and his own personal style has created a new era in trance music , regard's

Bro....There is one thing u have to understand 90% of all big dj compliation cds or any compliation cd out there in the market ..well they are not mixed live its all production mixed meaning by computer..... unless is live from some event other then that is computer made.....and second i beleive PVD is one of the better djs to mix more then one genre together.... listen to him live he spin not just trance or epic ....there is house, deep house, progressive, tech house, techno ...what ever hes into he plays ...and he is one of the better mixers out there in the trance industry...and i know this cuz i have seen him many times already.... and for saying he comes out with a new album takes him like years..well thats not true guarenteed all his songs in his new upcomming album in 2002 were most likely produced in later year of 2000 or early 2001...many of the songs he will play out him self before he have someone else play them out .....thats how pvd is..... he produced many more albums then Ferry and Tiesto which have released only there first album and they been producing and djing forlong time as well.....PVD is the biggest dj right now ..hes the best for reading the crowd then anything else..... his songs that he produce are like no other ...nno one sounds like pvd when they produce thats what makes pvd stuff so special

Posted by whiskers on Dec-04-2001 03:13:

totally agree with the previous post in everything. PvD has the awesome originality!
by the way, talking about mix cds, almost anyone could produce a decent mix cd using a computer. but it just sounds somehow different from vinyl mixed cds.
take tiesto's revolution, for example. i heard they messed up and tiesto mixed it on his turntables in mono. still, that kick-ass cd sounds much better than any of the computer-made cd's like Dance Party 71 or Totally Trance 235. (or Now8: that's what i call music--what the FREAK is that? that is incredible BS!) I would say the DJ puts his emotion into the music on the cd and you can hear it.
Most of those totally dance or what-the-fuck-ever cds are made for commercial use: they compile and recompile the same popular cheese to make money. Mr. God Paul Van Dyk, however, spent his time REWORKING each track, taking it apart by the elements and putting it together. He put in his efforts in it and that's what's important.

thanx for the help

Thank you for the help with the Quotes thing,
oh and I know Tiesto makes studio mixes, and I know that in search for sunrise is a studio mix, that is why i did not make refference to it in my previous post =)

Paul Van Dyk is awesome, that is the bottom line, I respect his style and do not think that the fact his POD CDs are studio made affects it's message or validity.

Anyone who knows anything about Trance knows pvd can mix live just as well =)

Satan (eek!) PVD's Politics of Dancing

PVD has done it again! This is the syntheses of everything of good that I've heard on his live sets, only mixed together in two cds. The studio treatment really makes a difference. and Dreamland is the best track!!!!!!!!!!!
