the guv is something special, the only thing that makes the guv a bit bad is the crowd and the pushy bouncers. but yet again i have seen kids in aria that i could swear were no older than 14.

aria is a fun place to be and the DJ booth kicks ass but id still pick guv over it anyday.

Im with Baki... although I like Aria alot, if I had to chose, id easily pick Guv over Aria...

there are number things I like about aria better, one of the big ones is all the couches lying around u can cool down or chill out on... and i really LOVE how you can go behind the DJ booth and see whuts happening... though in general I prefer higher up DJ booths for some reason

I dont really like how aria is underground... it throws me off or soomething... and i really wish their celing was higher... i feel freer in guv

also, i know why aria choses not to sell alcohol, but i love my fucking beer, so i want to be able to freakin' drink until 2am when im at a club (esp. now that ive gone more towards drinking and smoking weed when going out instead of dropping e bombs ) Then after 2 its all about the Red Bull hehehe

Anyways, Guv > Aria

Tschss

Even tho i'm not too fond of the crowd at Guv, seeing familiar faces and running into ppl u know makes up for it!
and yeah those kids at aria were horrible....
soooo Guv > Aria!

Ummm, no they're nnt. What the hell are 16 year olds doing in an afterhours anyway ? Selling cookies ? They're probably more cracked out then any chinese family.

50 year old cracked out asians forming an e-puddle isn't pretty, but i don't recall anyone ever having a problem with them at the Guv...16 year old kids, high on drugs, in a place where they legally aren't allowed -- potential for a lot of problems !

Never been to Aria -- but lights on the floor -- - sounds like a bad 70's disco movie. Afterhours are better with less lights, INHO.

but at Boa you don't have to deal with cracked out 14 year olds nor 50 year old chinese families!
So Boa > Guv > Aria

you're just assuming, as much as I am, that there's:

1) 16 years old kids in the place, i was just playing along actually, i never found kids that young in there, maybe, thats a big maybe, 17 (our legal age is 18).

2) that a young kid (if there's any) would make trouble in the club when cracked out, the problem is that I never witnessed that in my almost 100 times I went there.

Please don't talk about something you don't know about

and here's how the lights from the floor looks like:

70s my ass

Posted by Tully on Feb-08-2005 01:52:

Guv all the way

Posted by Jem_hadar on Feb-08-2005 02:50:

Yea, the lights in the floor at aria are cool... im indifferent to them... adds a cool effect, but shits cool too w/o them...

its defiantely not a bad thing if any one thinks that

Posted by SniFFleS on Feb-08-2005 02:50:

no alcohol is really weak, theres prolly so many fags on E like Boa

I didn't assume it. You made a statement that 16 years olds are better then 50 year old cracked out asians. I was just voicing my opinion that i'd rather party around 50 year old cracked out asians, then 16 year olds. ( both statements are exaggeratations actually. There aren't THAT many 50 year olds are the Guv, and i'm almost sure there aren't that many 16 year olds at Aria)

My statement is based on the observation that young people, in a party mood, in a place where drugs are freely avaiable for consumption are more prone to doing some wack shit then some 50 year old druggie FOBs. You have your opinion based on your life experience, and i have mine. I've seen and been involved in way too much bullshit when i was youngin...Never fought with a 50 year old before...so given a choice, i'd rather be high around a 50 year old who knows he/she is fucked up and isn't going to cause any problems.

reading closely helps with comprehension. I suggest you try it before dispensing advice on what i should or shouldn't talk about. My comment was about the lights on the floor, not the club. If i walk into a club with lights on the floor, to me, that's something out of a 70's disco classic. Or are you actually suggesting that lights in floor is something new ?

wow, so everytime you see a light source, you tell yourself damn thats old, it was invented a 100 years ago...

hahahah i almost tripped on him not seeing how he was seated when i was pushed around by the crowd

^^^

LOL -- all i'm saying is, if i see lights on the floor, i think disco fever. Why is that so hard to understand. I'm not dissing the club, i'm just saying that's what i would think of first. It's not a bad thing either, you just assumed that it was because of the rollyeyes... My comment was in regards to the first few replies which made it seem like Aria was the bomb just cause it had lights in the floor...which to me seems pretty funny.

I said, Republik which i've never been to before (only seen in pics) looks like a set from the star ship enterprise. It's just an observation.

You need to stop taking things so personally, bud.

PS. Oh, and newsflash...they have upgraded from those vinyls

I think they're called CD's.

If you guys always complain about crowdedness at clubs.. then you would hate ibiza.

Also, As a venue, Guv is phenomenal. The vibe at Aria is probably better though.

But nothing beats the Skybar in the summer!

and i have to drive 2 hours (or bus it.. which is often an 8 hour total trip there or back, depending on change over times in Barrie) to get to TO to experience it.!
