TIESTO IS POP!!!

What else can you call it?

The guy played the olympics for fuck sake....

Tiesto is to dancepop what britney is to american pop

And just because some magazine tells me he's number one doesnt mean hes the best

Honestly, I hated him before to. The first time I saw him was at guv, he went off super early, and the entire set totally SUCKED!! After hearing him spin at the docks though, the entire set was just amazing. Hes not MY number one dj by far, no matter what dj mag says or anyone, but hes a hell of alot better than I thought at first, and I would want to see him spin again. He spun at the olympics, who the fuck cares, as long as he can spin, and mix the music I listen to, thats all that matters.

I've seen you write a lot of ignorant things, but this might top them all. You just have to say something against everything, no matter how silly it sounds, don't you?

I'm not a Tiesto fan by any means, but the guy is the king of this scene without any shadow of a doubt. Nobody else commands the fees he does, packs rooms like he does, or has fans around the world on the level he does, nor is anyone else opening doors (both in making new fans and for exsiting DJs) and moving the scene forward the way he is. What he's accomplished in the last few years is incredible.

Bold statements you have there... It's a privilege to play at the Olympics. Last time I checked, he was the first DJ ever to do a live performance at the Olympics. Judging from your responses in this thread you have no respect for the guy. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.... so I guess I'll take yours with a grain of salt.

There is no such thing as "the best Dj", it's all a matter of taste

thats very true... its liek fashion .. i hate the damn word .. you wear what you like and look good in not what the magazine or celebrities say is in but the majority thinks otherwise .. same thing with music .. if people liek tiesto cuz dj mag said hes no1 let them .. no point belittling them just to get your point across cuz it usually doesnt work ... just my .02$

Exactly. Same w Raveed's post.
I just happen to not like Tiesto as much anymore. He lost what he once had. I am NOT jumping on the bandwagon as I gave him 2 chances to prove himself and he was average both times. I'll probably not go and see him again.

It's at Palais des congres in Montreal , as for the line up shown above it's only a guess but the confirmed big Dj are Tiesto, Peter Rauhofer, David Morales, Deep Dish and Preach !!

anyways u can check www.balenblanc.com or www.edmm.ca for more info !!

Not sure why people have such a big problem with him. IMHO, if you don't like it, don't listen, don't endorse him by paying money for any concerts/music/whatever. Outside of that, pretty much anything else stated is irrelevant. What IS relevant is the fact that he is one of the most well known names on Earth, and that's probably saying a hell of a lot more than for anyone else on this forum.
Either way, for as many people that don't like him, there'll be just as many that do, so it should still be a good event. Now only if his website wasn't such a joke, I might actually know when he'll be here again.

Its all about good marketing and having a couple of number 1 tunes. COnsidering he has charted top 5 on radio charts around the world numerous times its hard not to call him pop.

That still doesnt make him a good dj.

I dont know why people confuse good marketing or a popular song with DJing. One does not equate the other. A lot of good DJs have never produced a song and a lot of good producers cant DJ to save their life. I don't go to hear producers unless they are being played by a really good DJ.
