This club was great...has alot of potential! Good seeing all the TA's in there as well, great turnout!

I'm starting afterparties next week, Ian...Friday will be Krucial and MC Mo dropping sick ass Ragga Jungle, so the afterparty will be some Ragga/HipHop/Downtempo...I'm thinking Killians kegs...

Maybe some Prog/Trance/Goa for the Ghost/Hydra afterparty?

Alright.

I am aware of my own pessimistic attitude. I know that it is good to be supportive of this new club in a city with no EDM scene. I understand that dollars I spend there could be used to improve this venue and bring in better talent one day.

BUT FUCK THAT PLACE

With its Radio Shack Speakers, $5 drinks in cups smaller than the ones sitting next to the water cooler where you work, inconsistent dress code policy, intelligent lighting that consisted of a drunk bitch bumping into a light switch on the wall, no smoking and no you cant go outside policy, police showing their way through the crowd, dance floor ripped out of the polka lounge, bartenders so slow Ect. Ect.

Alright, Im done. I almost feel sorry for the place.

Sorry to be that Jerk. Good choons and nice furniture though.

TEGU: Nice meeting you. You should have hit that before she got arrested.

It was opening night and there are just some problems you can't see coming until your actually going through with it. One of the over-whelming complaints had to do with staff (e.g. bartender), that has been solved, as well as the inequity in drink prices. Lighting was supposed to be solved by friday, but not to worry, i am working on it. Sound is also being worked on as well. Remember i am working with a lot of green people, including myself to a large degree. The dress code and +18 policies can in large part be blamed on myself. I guess my briefing to the door people wasn't adequate enough. The smoking policiy is something i have to discuss with the owner.

The place isn't perfect and never will be. I'm just trying to provide an attractive venue to hear all types of EDM, and i will consistently try to improve and build. Sorry your first experiance wasn't a positive one, the overwhelming responce, however, has been a positive one filled with a lot of optimism. In fact, you are far from the only person to offer up complaints... just the only one to do so without any suggestions on how to improve. In contrast, there has been a great number of people who have volunteer there knowledge, time, and energy to help improve the place for the sake of the music! To those people my gratitude is deeply indebted, and thank you for helping keep the music alive here!

Next Friday... DJ KRUCIAL!

lmao. that figures. EDM just doesnt work in G-ville. The best turnout ive ever seen in G-ville was for Edgar V and that place was still pretty empty. and aside from Matt stealing us drinks for the bar, that night would have probably sucked.

OK, wait Vero, are you talking Edgar at Simon's or Vibe?

Anyway, you just havn't been to the right nights! There have actually been some good times had in Gainesville in the past few months. No Club Space-style parties, but this isn't Miami!

I'm planning a series of afterparties for those who still bitch about the 2AM law. So come to the club for the music and if nothing else the directions to even BETTER music till daylight!!!

DJ KRUCIAL Holdin' it down propa for da massive this Friday with Bambu and Hiebel droppin da ragga/hiphop beats till da early mornin!

I know, it's TA but I couldn't resist

Vibe. and maybe i havent been for the right nights, dont get me wrong, i had a great time at Edgar, but ive never been to a club in gainesville and been able to walk out saying "i had a great time." Greg (dawntreader) and I have very similar tastes when it comes to the parties and clubs that we enjoy, and ive gotta take his word for it if he says it sucks.

and no offense but the parties that you throw and post about allways sounds like a super kandy fest, and thats not exactly my type of atmosphere.

Not to change the subject but I've never thrown a super kandy fest, and I never will. If there has ever been someone blowing up at my parties I've missed it. I don't even know any kandy kids anymore!

It says "Poetic Junglist" under my name for a reason.

instead of being all double y, why don't you just come out and support. I've never seen people doing drugs at Spykes parties, just a bunch of hot chicks and cool guys. You should give it a shot, you might just have a good time. Just to reiterate, 95% of problems from last Friday at Platinum have been fixed!

There was also a write u[p in the alligator about it, so more peeps should be coming out this week! Hydra, that was a pretty money set b/f Edgar, big ups to ya!

tonight, DJ Krucial. This guy is sick, he's rocked some of the biggest clubs in the U.S. including stops at Camolflage, Fluid, and Sonar.. in the past few months. If you feel like mixing it up and hearing some DnB.. a show definitely not to miss!
