I was actually thinking about learning it just because I like the way it sounds, and with all the anime I watch, it would make it that much easier.

I took japanese 4 four years... 2 with an awesome guy that was from the US, but spoke fluently, then the other 2 years with old ladies that couldnt speak english and im pretty sure wernt teachers...

lira- you passed the jlpt? congrats... I got 62% on the level one... My kanji skills let me down... but i cant complain thats with absolutely no preperation... this year im going into high gear and im gonna kick the shit out of it be the second person ever to get 100% hehehe

Just level four... I'm still waiting for the results of level three, which will be probably out next month. It was somewhat ahead of my level (it had plenty of keigo, which I was completely ignorant about), but I'm hopeful I may have got 61% or something, which would grant me the certificate.

Kanji is the devil. Absolutely the worst part about the language; having to memorize 10,000 similar characters. Conjugation for past/present/formal/informal/affirmative/negative/etc. is annoying, too.

Do you know the "6 forms"? It becomes easier to understand the cojugations, I reckon
