poor Karen.

if you need a short term stay, you can stay with Ray and I until you find a place or whatever. If you need to ever come during the week and apply for jobs you can stay here too. We have an extra bedroom with a futon.

How much knowledge do you have in respects to switching/routing (OSI layers 2 and 3), specifically with Cisco gear?

OSPF, IS-IS and BGP (IGP/EGP routing protocols), as well as VLANs, ATM and Frame-Relay (LAN/WAN).

MPLS and QoS know-how would be an asset as well. This all would be at the CCNP level.

And yes I have too much time on my hands linking every second word to Wikipedia...

Karen, I'm PM'ing you the name of a employment consultant I have dealt with in the past. Their firm deals heavily in customer service (financial, telecom) and I think they'd be able to place you.

Ahem... I know everyone hates Rogers Cable... but it is listed at the top 500 companies here in TO.

If all else fails try Rogers Careers and click on continue and then search by job posting in the geographical area you want to work in.

Like I said I am a little rusty when it comes to my networking skills, but I can always go through a refresher....but if I was to fall into a position today, I most likely would have a rough go at it.

Karen, if you want a number for a hiring company that took me before Td, I can get you their num as well. It's Pinstripe...don't know if that's the one that the other Chris recommended...

I've dealt with them in the past. Unfortunately they've been bought out by Ajilon.

Awe hun sorry about your luck.

If you for some reason happen to end up around the London area let me know and I'll hook you up with something. I know a few call centers that would beg for your experience.

Hope things work out for you soon And remember, SMILE!

Hit up http://www,craigslist.org and go to the Toronto listing on the right side of the page.

Tons of great, clean and cheap housing.

Job postings too.

Posted by Enraptured on Feb-17-2005 17:55:

That's kind of a crappy situation... but at least your landlord gave you notice! Not everyone gets 2 months...

Any luck yet?

My company isn't hiring I don't think, but if anything comes up, I'll let you know... if I had seen this about a month ago, we were hiring a QA/RA assistant! Too bad...

I'll keep my eyes open.

Good luck!

Posted by dallastar on Feb-17-2005 21:11:

just found this ad on my friends e-mail!

hope this helps and your welcome!!!!

Looking for a place to live?
Heres a message from our friend Steve Sheridan - I looking for a roommate. Looks like plans a, b & c aren't going to happen so I'm putting the call out to all my local friends and acquaintances. It's a funky 2 bedroom. and the view just can't be beat! In fact, the empty bedroom has a south view right from your pillow! It's very clean, extremely central (Gerrard and Sherbourne) and quite cheap. $600 includes everything... even cable and phone. Folks can reach me on 416 712 3151. I really appreciate y'all spreading the word.
