Going down to the doctors tommorow. They've put me on pain killers that work for about an hour, then i have 3 hours of pain before i can thake another. They make me so drowsy that i cant drive becuase its too dangerous, yet i cant get to sleep at night (its 1:45 am here now).
Got a Ultra-sound scan on Tuesday next week....then another two weeks for the Results to come back! NHS Sucks Donkey dick! My local hospital said that i was over-reacting when i was pissing out nothing but blood every 5 mins! Grrr.
Anyway still in alot of pain, only way to describe it is it feels like im winded from being puched in the stomach Constantly...The doctors have no clue what it is and its worrying me since the pain is moving away from my Kidneys and further in towards the centre of my body and feels like its moving further up (to the point where the ribcage separates in two)
Anyone have any ideas?

You can't change doctors? What kind of fucked up doctor are you going to that it takes 2 weeks to read an ultra-sound? Walk into the emergency room and say you're pissing blood. Stupid morons.

pay 4x as much too.

kidney infections are seriously low in males. if it takes too long to diagnose, thats bullshit, but going to a high risk practioner isnt the best solution either. paying more for shitty serivice is only a last minute option|

Didn't he say he's on same national health insurance crap? If so, E.R. won't cost 4x's as much. Besides look at the pain he's in. Drinking painkillers is going to mess up other stuff. He's been in pain for over a month, time to do something about it.

true, but is that the internets problem? hardly...

its a fucked up sit, but he needs to deal with it for real, not just post about how much his kidneys hurt|

Ouch, Jackson, hope you get better soon. Did they tell you what the cause is?

I remember there was a thread of yours about it. It's a shame you've got this infection, you seemed so excited, as I recall it.

I think we should start a poll to see who will donate their kidney to him.

We have to find somebody, damnit, it's for another T.A.!

That sucks really bad man it sounds like your liver is getting infected as well and I can tell you from personal experience that's just going to make things a whole hell of a lot worse. You're probably experiencing it already which is why you feel like such complete shit.

It's likely that you're in for a very unpleasant month or two at least, but I wouldn't worry about any permanent damage at this point as it's highly unlikely. Hope you feel better.

Ok, i am super-pissed! The doctor said to me "Is there anything wrong at college that is making you pretend to be ill!?"
I mean WTF! I'm getting pretty much Sleepless nights for over a month and he thinks im faking it! I felt like smacking him, im in eye-watering pain and he's taking ages to sort it out!
NHS is National Health Service. In the UK ALL Medical is free unless you wanna go private which means it gets done quicker but is very expensive (300 for ultra-sound scan which is about $500+us i think).
My blood type is A Positive for those who wanna donate

the pain was unbearable

Posted by arek on Mar-17-2005 13:05:

go to the hospital.. NOW.

Posted by Jackson on Mar-17-2005 13:36:

The Hospitals Suck! They take a urine sample...tell me that there is something wrong and the dont know what it is, Then send me home because they cannot spare a bed.

Ok so since about the thursday before last my whole bladder area has been killing me... kills like mad, feels like i need to piss all the time and blood was coming out when i did pee...i thought sod that, i'll go to the hospital and get it checked out (doctors were closed on sat evening). Done a urine sample and was diagnosed with a very very severe bladder infection... so was given a course of antibiotics (200mg of something twice a day) that would last 5 -6 days and told to drink atleast 3 litres (about 8 pints i think) a day

After bout 4 days the pain had pretty much gone (even though i was constantly on ibupofen it was still painful)...now im in really baad pain again not just in my bladder but where my kidneys are... it really is agonising.
Does this sound like my bladder infection could have spread to my kidneys?
I will be going to the doctors tomorrow evening, they're fully booked all day.

Sounds like a urinary tract infection gone bad... i know how that feels You gotta take care of that stuff straight away otherwise the infection spreads to your kidneys and GOD does that hurt!!!

I had the kidney infection, it was so bad i couldn't sleep, just lay on my stomach and had to have my bf at the time rub my lower back very very gently. I was in so much friggin pain! If your kidneys are affected you'll know straight away, the pain is horrendous

I was in so much pain yesterday that i blacked out, i was admitted to hospital and have just got back home. Still in loads of pain.

Has your doctor referred you to a urologist?? If not, that's where you should have gone in the first place! They would have done the exam on you (apparently its pretty painful but you know... no pain, no gain).

Also if you're still suffering from it and want to help make it slightly better (without the meds), make sure you drink a LOT of water - +/- 3 liters a day - do not drink sodas (i.e. coke, sprite, whatever), orange juice, or anything with acid in it. The only one you can drink is cranberry juice, that helps a lot. Also try and see if you can get Citrus Soda over the counter at your pharmacy. I know you can get it like that in some countries...
If you can, disolve the powder into a glass of water every 3-4 hours and drink it all! That also helps a lot.

Good luck

Never heard of Citrus soda before. Drink 2 cartons of Cranberry juice a day and about 4 2 litre (bout 3 pints i think) bottles of water a day. Got my ultrasound scans on tuesday though but its still gonna be the moday after when i get the results back!

and they complain about healthcare in the US. im never going to the UK while sick.

Jackson, that's some serious stuff, perhaps the pourous blood vessels in your kidneys have been damaged. so instead of filtering just impurities, red blood cells are slipping through the gaps, perhaps causing blood in your urine. now if it burns when u pee, it could be bladder-related.

i remember waking up one night around 4am, out of the blue with an excruciating pain in my lower stomach. i couldnt even walk. i had to be carried. i rarely ever cry. last time i cried was out of anger last summer. but with this, i was clenching my teeth. it hurt so bad i couldnt cry. i just had tears going down my face. i couldnt even talk.

turned out i had appendicitus. got into the hospital around 5am, was in surgery by 11am. i was 14 at the time. the surgeon told me that the pathologist report stated that my appendix was one of the largest they'de seen in a long time. im proud of that.

9cm long, 3cm wide. massive little guy. luckly for me, mine didnt rupture. my father's ruptured when he had it last year. he went to the hospital and they sent him home where it ruptured, and he stopped breathing. very scary. he's fully recovered though
