You sure he gets 10k every gig? i doubt it.. these days there is diff prices for diff events .....

150 gigs is alot!! omg..

errr and... who is bad boy bill? haha

yes agent fees e 10-20%, then normally the country theyre djing in, has another agent who did it for them 10%.... oh the dj ends up with 70% or so.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if BBB made $10k+ per gig in the US. He's a quite populer / well known house DJ.

I know he isn't a trance dj, but I read early last year that Fergie was well on his way to his first million. And since then he will have done lots of gigs, and of course he has his radio show with radio one, so he is probably a member of the millionaires club by now.

Posted by Radagast on Feb-17-2005 18:18:

I said average. Probably a lot more some gigs and a lot less some gigs.

I don't see the shock over Bad Boy Bill making a lot of money. He's the most popular DJ in america...well he was when he was voted #1 in BPM Magazine 2003. Probably still the most popular House DJ in america, ergo everywhere else as well.

well we paid Sasha 100 thousand dollars for NYE gig at acapulco. Considering he has his own record label and plays everywhere. More djs than you think make millions a year.

have you noticed that Excession is not a word

Posted by slinkyhead on Feb-17-2005 20:16:

to be a millionaure you need to be worth a million pounds/dollars whatever currency you are talking about. All the djs that own relatively big record labels are probably in that bracket even though there wealth it tied up. Prob only tiesto and oakie actually have a million plus in the bank

Posted by mto on Feb-17-2005 20:21:

Oakenfold = produced Madonna
BT = produced N Sync
Tiesto = the venues he plays and popularity

great response to to my thread

yeah i'd say atb is defo member of the millionaire club. 9pm til i come and dont stop both sold bucket loads and lets not forget he has had a string of hits in germany since. and germany being the second or third biggest music industry in the world means alot of sales.

PVD record sales would also would have him up there. i'm surprised people think armin on record sales, wouldnt think he'd make million on record sales alone. but of course he has his record labels. tiesto is known to charge 100,000 a gig now since he has the title of world no 1 so i'm sure he easy has a million.

makes me sick to think judge friggin jules is worth millions

where do u get ur figures from?
i think uve just made all that up 10k average per gig got to be joking

Read This!

Don't forget promotion deals... The ones that write for movies commercials, and video games...... i.e. Moby, Fatboy Slim, BT, PVD, Dirty Vegas, Oakenfold, Tiesto. Promotional deals give you big bucks...

Also, the ones that remix for really big pop stars (madonna, Brittany Spears, Christina...) like Junior Vasquez, Victor Calderone....

But, also remember that most of these big guys pump a lot of money into their staff, and especially their labels.... So, it works a lot like the pop industry.... the more you make, the more overhead you have as far as lawyers, agents, accountants, label overhead...etc.

I would imagine that most of your jet setting DJs are millionares....probably from saving over the years.... especially the ones that brag about having two or more homes, opening their own club/bar/restaurant.....

I would love to know how much the dance music industry generates a year, in total... MTV should start doing, "It's good to be Paul Oakenfold" just so we know how ridiculously some of these "superstars" really have it.....

i seriously doubt it. He only makes about 2grand a gig, or less. He wouldnt make making a huge amount from his radio show either.

tiesto makes no where near a 100,000 a gig ffs. Certainly not when he plays the average club.

the fudge isnt worth millions either.

Posted by LucasYork on Feb-18-2005 02:48:

chicane is worth mills, he had huge productions!!

thrillseekers also - steve has done so many remixes and had big tunes on so many comps...

lange MAYBE...

the others no

tiesto for the avg gig is about $30,000AUS im pretty sure

and i hope someone knocks him off the number 1 spot this yr

VOTE FOR ME
ahha

well if you figure that over 10 million households in america have a net worth of over 1 million dollars...1 million isn't really that much money... theres a lot more money out there than you might think

so true

Guys, there are so many djs you are questioning that I can't believe you would. Someone even said oakie may not be worth that much? I bet oakie has at LEAST 10 mil in his pocket. He charges (or used to) 27,000$ an hour of a gig... think about that. That's more than some people make in a year.

Oh Ive noticed you are swedish, by the way I used to smugle pills for acid techno raves into your country before you even had your first cd mate.

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Feb-18-2005 07:53:
