True. However, there is a different mentality amongst europeans and americans. Just see what happend before/during the Iraq war, in europe there were massive protests and the media actually presented the points against, while in the states 90% of the population was for the war and the media was also 90% pro war.

American mentality is that you solve much with war, european mentality is that diplomacy rules.

In relation to the other thing, it has been claimed by Green Peace that current EU legislation is facilitating plundering of fish stocks off the west of Africa. I'll only mention that and not go into it because I don't know much about it, but it demonstrates the potential for abuses that could be carried out.

i dont know about that so i cannot comment.

Compare the beginnings of what is now the EU (I think it was called the European Coal and Steel Community??) to what it became through the EEC and present day EU. It has undergone quite a transformation, and if things keep going the way they are it eventually will become a single federal European state. The new Constitution won't provide for this on its own of course, but it's another step on the road to it.

True. My tip tho, when you think it has gone to far, THEN VOTE NO, not on something else. Im pretty sure that if your state have to give up its veto on foreign policy (which i think is what you are affraid of?), there will be a new referendum.

I know they don't necessarily have to be evil. But their creation opens the door to possible abuses of its strength at the expense of other states and peoples, as has been the case in the past and is the case in the present with the superpower that does exist (as I've already mentioned).

So facts still remains. There is already a superpower, this one superpower can rule the world pretty much however it wants to. Only way to stop them is to create a superpower that is as good or better than the other one, and in that way get a voice that is so strong that it is worth listening to.

But yeah you are right, it opens the possibilities for missuse. I somehow believe more in europe than you do tho. I also think that if you want to avoid it, you can try to write it into the constitution, some law that makes it hard to missuse the superpower powers.

I guess his concern is that all those who are sceptics draw their line at different stages, and that if you delay your no-vote until a treaty is crossing your private line, those whose lines were crossed two or three treaties ago would be in a state of disillusion or powerlessnes and stay at home, or simply vote yes now that their line had already been crossed. A sort of "not helping your neighbour when the antagonists came to torch his house"-scenario.
