It's a very unique feeling - it's sort of like somebody tugs on your brain and eyes very slowly but very hardly - light becomes distorted and near-black, then is offset towards some unknown destination (I had a large, bright light above my left eye, sort of like a glowstick in my brain) and then everything goes black and it feels like you've become one of those little pigments of black on the static when you put your television set to a channel you don't get.

Feels really cold - like coldness of the mind, not the body. You're lost in a sea of nothingness, and it feels like you've become one of those spots on your vision when you've fallen asleep in the sun and haven't had a drink of water for a couple hours. When you regain consciousness, you're surronded by very frightened people in the hospital.

If I try really hard, I can mimic the feeling once more and induce a seizure. Like I said - it's very unique, and you don't dare let yourself forget what it feels like.

Unfortunately though, as great of a party-trick as it might be (far cooler than reciting the 1000th digit of Pi), you tend to clutch and grab at things and can even jam them into your throat on some occasions. I've never actually put anything into my mouth, as I've only really had 1 seizure (maybe 2...can't remember specific events), but I've been told that it's a danger.

Ever fallen asleep for over 16 hours at a time? You know that feeling you get when you actually wake up and nothing seems real? Multiply that by 2, and you have some idea of what the next week is like after you've had your first seizure.

Of course, I've known epiliptic people who have them almost daily, so they get used to getting back up and doing whatever it is they were doing before, but that first time is like drugs.

Bad trip. But an interesting one...

So when does this 'boy' stop playing mind games and start solving world problems? They should get him on the Tonight Show, that'd be fun to watch. See what crazy mind-games Leno can cook up for him to do on air.

This is extremely impressive! If I had The Science Channel on my cable, I would watch Brainman too. If anyone can rip it, can it be released online, preferrably on ThePirateBay.org as a .torrent? I'm amazed at what this guy can do. What do you mean by 'So when does this 'boy' stop playing mind games and start solving world problems?'? If you mean that what this person can do means nothing at all, I'm highly offended, as what he knows and can do could greatly help solve major issues in our world in some way.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to watching this tomorrow night.

Well, aren't these 'games' part of a test to see what he's capable of? PLus, he can't solve many world problems becasue 'People = Difficult' (these problems, like war, terrorism, politics, etc. involve PEOPLE, and everyone really wants something different, even within countries).

Daniel Tammet is a mental phenomenon. He can remember 1,000 playing cards in an hour and recite them backwards and forwards. He can tell you on what day of the week a date will fall 100 years from now. He speaks nine languages. And, perhaps most intriguingly, he has a special relationship with numbers - he sees them as textured, layered landscapes in his mind. Daniel's talents are tested and explored in BRAINMAN, a one-hour special premiering Wednesday, February 23 at 8 PM (ET/PT) on The Science Channel.

Wow!!!

He's not exactly Autistic, but it almost sounds as though he has a serious case of Asperger's Syndrome

I once had a TA for my behavioral psychology class who once had the world record for momorizing pi. I didnt belive the guy so i wrote about 50 numbers on the chalk board to test the guy. He looked at the board for about 1 minute, then sure hell enough the joker spitted them all out. The he proceeds to do it backwords. He said the trick was that he associated the numbers with something to group them, then memorized the associations. i.e. 19565013
1956 babe ruth broke a record
56 is my moms age
5013 is last digits of ss#

seems easier than memorizing numbers, but rediculous none the less
