Didn't like it

Hopefully the other remixes will be superb.

Posted by eXos on Feb-22-2005 21:52:

The sample is to short. Phynn, can you give me/us a bigger sample?

Posted by skip on Feb-22-2005 22:00:

i hope they'll be releasing this as a cd single then too, like the case is usually, altho just be didn't get wide release as a cd-single for some reason. i dunno about the remixes, but i'd love to have the full lenght original on cd as i think it's a brilliant track.

It will include 3 remixes, a Fred Baker Remix, a Danjo & Styles Remix and my own remix. The release will take place within 2 months. If you want to hear a preview of my remix, please go here

OH WOW WOW!!! I can honestly say everything Phynn makes or remixes I love it!! Can't wait for this.

Posted by meneedit on Feb-23-2005 03:48:

am i missing something here!!?

Do we have a famous DJ browsing this forum?

who is Phynn and why is he lucky enough to get a remix of "adagio" released.

Anyways. I liked it.

I've always wanted to use a compressor in that way.

how do you get it to hold the synth back. do you have to put the kick drum in the same FX as the synth?

hope u get back to me on that one

nice remix

Posted by ladybird on Feb-23-2005 11:42:

didn't listen to those new remixes, but... don't know.. i'm kinda stuck to Ferry's one. But, we'll see

Posted by djVersus on Feb-23-2005 18:53:

ferry's remix has alot of MEAT, it was done using real outboard synthesizers/sequeners etc, you can hear the difference. His style was also noticable to, from the bassline to the hi hats to the riff.

you see, back then you had producers like ferry, tandu, fridge, flutlicht, rank 1, schiller, etc who all had their own "sound".

Now a days, all the new remixes sound anorexic and un-original. You can tell they were all made using a all in one software tool, the tool beiing "guide to making trance music", all generic.

i think Tiesto's version of Adagio is one of the worst tracks released in 2004

Posted by Stephenox on Feb-23-2005 23:41:

I absolutely loved Ferry's remix of Adagio for Strings, whether it be called "generic" or not. I absolutely hated Tiesto's remix of Adagio for Strings. I usually don't like Phynn's productions, but his remix of the Adagio sounds promising.

Edit: And putting your own style on a production of a remix can't be called generic, because if you don't put your own style on it, then what do you do? Remix a tune in someone else's style? If you like Ferry's old style and his remixes back then were all in that style, you can't just call them generic because they're in his style.

Posted by R.j. on Feb-24-2005 02:49:

ehh... its ok

sorry phynn, i love your remix of Stop 9.5, but this doesnt sound like anything promising!(well my opinion might of been different if it was longer).

peace!

Posted by RIPassion on Feb-24-2005 02:53:

This is going to tear up the dance floors... especially if Tiesto plays this mix live. (and I'd put my money on it)

This is thumping... that side-chaining thingy is really nice.

Posted by flavdave on Feb-24-2005 02:57:

I love that people are replying to the thread as if Phynn started it. Note to you guys, tiestoinmix is not Phynn.
