"vs"

is usually used for two situations as already mentioned...

1. a bootleg of two songs aka "Sasha vs Underworld - Cowpander"

and

2. a co-project with two known producers aka "Matt Hardwick vs Smith & Pledger - Connected"

so why are we still arguing?

"" is often used to make fun of people. Believe me, I know. So no, it's not that obvious.

Oh, and...

Thanks for the help, I guess. All I wanted was a straight answer, but instead, my post was hijacked and turned into a pissing contest.

I think I get the idea though. Can someone tell me what a white label is?

Forgive me for not knowing any of these terms. I am a recovering MP3-downloader turned to the light side. I'm in the process, slow process, of purchasing a lot of the music I'd downloaded a while back to make my collection legitimate. I just don't know what a lot of these little things mean.

a white label is a promotional copy of a tune before it is officially signed to a record label.

Or a white label can actually be a promo of a tune distributed by the record label. It doesnt have to be unsigned.
In otherwords, a white label is a promo.

stop talking such *ankness.

it's got *uck all to do with that.

VERSUS is when the person who originally had the conept for the tune only came up with the chorus, and couldn't think how to finish it. then someone else comes along and writes the verse for it.

plural of verse is versus.

see.

FEAT means that a (usually) female singer came along, and thought the tune was crap without vocals, so she sang all over it, and re-released it under a a remix rework, which was re mastered and re written.

You've got to be kidding me.

The plural of verse is verses, and your argument doesn't really hold for most trance records, which don't even have a chorus. Think instrumentals...?

And as for the featuring issue, well usually the original producer asks a vocalist to work with him/her in the first place, not the other way round as you imply.
