Marco V rmx

IMO Marco V remix is the worst. It lacks the soul you can find in Oliver Lieb, Cosmic Baby and Hybrids remixes.

Agreed.
The Three N One Mix played a big part in getting me into trance in the first place and to me is more emotional, but Lieb's remix is total quality.
I haven't heard the Marco V Remix, but that is more through lack of trying - I have never really gone out of my way to hear it.

Agreed, Marco V Remix doesn't come close. The classic Three 'N One Mix is second best IMO.

Yes it's a beach bar/beach cafe in San Antonio, Ibiza. It's also the place where Jos Padilla, the man behind the original Caf Del Mar chillout series, has been a resident in for a loong time. The sunsets there are indeed unbelievably beautiful, something everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime.

3n1 is my fav mix, the Michael Woods Ambient mix is my second fav
Posted by Prototrance on Mar-01-2005 13:55:
Three n' one mix all the way. My 2nd favorite mix has to be The Universal state of mind remix. I love the piano rendition of the main riff.
Mixes I'm aware of (excluding edits):-
Original - as previously stated - not released
Kid Paul
Universal state of mind
Solar stone
Three n' One
Three n' One update
Hybrids Matrix dub (I think thats what its called - theres definately a hybrid mix anyway)
Nalin & Kane remix
Cafe del Marco V remix
Michael Woods ambient mix
I didn't know there was an Oliver Lieb mix - any good? Is it typical Lieb?

Depends what you consider as his typical style as he's done a lot. I'd say it's more towards his mid 90's L.S.G sound than anything else. Just listened to it again and it actually may be my favourite version of the track.

it's called hybrid's time traveler mix but yeah, let's post zee big list (courtesy of grimreaper):
Energy 52 - Caf Del Mar
Cosmic Baby's Impression (6:45)
Kid Paul Mix (7:16) >> nowadays known also as Original Mix
Peace Mix (7:13)
Porte de Bagnolet Mix (5:53)
Ivan Remix (8:06)
Josh Abraham's Down Under Remix (7:03)
Kid Paul Radio Mix (3:32)
Oliver Lieb's LSG Remix (7:44) >> aka Oliver Lieb Mix 1
Oliver Lieb Mix 2 (7:30)
Solar Stone Remix (8:37)
Three'n'One Remix (8:43)
Universal State Of Mind Mix (7:15)
Hybrid's Time Traveller Remix (6:36)
Nalin & Kane Remix (9:44)
Deepsky's Stateside Cannon Remix (7:35)
Pure Nova & DJ Eyal Project Remix (7:50)
Humate Ambient Remix (7:07)
John "00" Fleming Remix (10:07)
Marco V Remix (8:34)
Michael Woods Ambient Mix (10:26)
Three'n'One 2002 Update (8:55)
Justin F Remix (7:04)
Kid Loops Remix (7:39)
some are missing, but i exclused edits, and i think not the 2004 mixes, and this is some of my opinions about the remixes:
nalin & kane's 1998 version is my favourite,
i have never liked the three'n'one mix
i think that deepsky mix & ralf hildenbreutel's porte de bagnolet is the most underrated mixes
humate made the better ambient mix
hybrid made the most interestine take on the track
the worst remixes of the track is imo:
U.S.O.M. mix // i can't believe the fact that marc mitchell failed to deliver anything good with this remix)
dj eyal & pure nova mix // what the fuck where you two thinking
josh abraham remix // i hate to repeat myself, but what the fuck was you thinking
solar stone mix // one of rich & andy's weaker moments, i used to like this mix, but suddenly i couldn't listen to the track anymore, it's a strange remix, done in 1997, i think what they was trying to do was to pull of was doing an oldschool remix but sadly they failed miserably

I agree on most parts there but i happen to like Marc Mitchell's view on the track even if it is a rather "meeh" effort compared to his other works. I'll say a few words of the mixes too, excluding the edits:
Original Mix (6:22)
- too bad this real original version never surfaced, it sounds a bit dated (of what i remember) but it was the source on what Kid Paul & Cosmic Baby based their own remakes
Cosmic Baby's Impression (6:45)
- pretty hard pumping version from Harald, loses a bit of the beauty of the track even if it has the main elements there
Kid Paul Mix (7:16)
- the one closest to original with subtle changes here and there and much smoother than Cosmic Baby's version; sadly only Solar Stone used the moody elements from this one with what they start their remix
Peace Mix (7:13)
- Kid Paul's alternate version; pretty minimal and much faster bpm than his "selftitled" mix
Porte de Bagnolet Mix (5:53)
- Ralf Hildenbeutel (aka 1/2 of Cygnus X & Sven Vth's co-producer) did a great job on this one; more haunting type remix with an almost euro dancey style kick & feel.
Ivan Remix (8:06)
- Oliver Lieb's harder and darker take on the track under his Ivan alias, uses some easily recognizable elements from his other mixes so it isn't THAT much different from them
Josh Abraham's Down Under Remix (7:03)
- a mix to puke on, we can only wonder why did the aussie even bothered to do this mix
Oliver Lieb's LSG Remix/Mix 1 (7:44)
- quality work from Oliver, great solid trancer with a hypnotic kick
Oliver Lieb Mix 2 (7:30)
- very subtle changes made to his main remix in the usual Lieb style (similar style changes than what he did with Love Stimulation remixes)
Solar Stone Remix (8:37)
- a rather disappointing effort from the dynamic duo, i guess they tried too much to make a more uplifting mix without succeeding on it
Three'n'One Remix (8:43)
- the version lots of people falsely think is the original, this has a huge buildup which everyone should know by now; i find this mix pretty boring
Universal State Of Mind Mix (7:15)
- Marc Mitchell could have done so much better, an epic Sunday Club remix might have been amazing
Hybrid's Time Traveller Remix (6:36)
- a fine little breaks trip which is quite different from the other mixes, not as huge buildup nor piano in the main melody; i like this
Nalin & Kane Remix (9:42)
- Nalin & Kane did a moody slowly building remix which r0x0rZ my b0x0rZ every time i hear it; my fav version
Deepsky's Stateside Cannon Remix (7:35)
- IMO one of the worst Deepsky remixes, lacks of about everything interesting they have in their other works
Pure Nova & DJ Eyal Project Remix (7:50)
- generic yet pumping version; nothing original here
Humate Ambient Remix (7:07)
- other of the ambient mixes of this track, this has more elements and is slightly faster than the following Michael Woods remix; perhaps the more interesting one out of the two
Michael Woods Ambient Mix (10:25)
- loooooong and slowly building ambient version, very similar in style to his Accadia - Into The Dawn (Accadia Ambient Mix); also one of my fav mixes
John "00" Fleming Remix (10:07)
- uses elements from the Michael Woods mix and overall nicely rolling version even if it isn't too interesting
Marco V Remix/Cafe Del Marco (8:34)
- typical Marco V, lots of addictive energy; lacks of originality tho, doesn't bring anything new to the track
Three'n'One Update (8:55)
- some subtle changes and additions been done to their '97 remix, pretty worthless update IMO
Justin F Remix (7:04)
- simply crappy mix
Kid Loops Remix (7:39)
- very very similar to Kid Loops mix of L.S.G. - Netherworld
Kenny Hayes Remix
- when will he stop rehashing with the classics.. already ruined Carte Blanche and now this...
Neo & Barbwire Remake
- typical boring supersaw take on the track; totally worthless
Fragma - Man In The Moon (cheesy vocal remake of Cafe Del Mar)
- why oh why did Ramon Zenker need to add vocals to Cafe Del Mar and ruin it?

You sure Marc Mitchell had anything to with that mix? Universal State Of Mind are Bob Dibden, Gavin Knight and Mark Lewis. Sunday Club remixed "All Because Of You" by Universal State Of Mind but I don't know of any further connections between the two.

I think the Hybrid mix is my favourite one, the production is super-cool and the beats are much more interesting than four on the floor. The Marco V mix packs some serious energy though, and the Three 'N One is an undeniable slayer.
