Anyways, I got some time to play the game and am now up to a nice 5 hours of gameplay. I'm at lvl Max for Royal Guard and am leveling up my trickster right now. Also, I'm having a ton of fun with Cerberus and the shotgun. Can't wait to play the remainder of the game.

The scene where Dante is talking to Cerberus is also pretty damn hilarious.

Im on mission 11. I am in awe with how awesome this game is. The game gets a lot more easier once the devil trigger gets unlocked.

Yan what seems to be your favorite fighting style? I am going to finish the game using trickster style because it comes in really handy when evading attacks. I think I'm going to experiment with the other styles on the other difficulty levels.

Agni and Ruda are by far my favorite weapons in the game. They are great for giving you some breathing room and creating crowd control.

PS Secret Mission 5 located in Mission 9 is great for purchasing all the actions on available weapons and items if you have the patience. You get at least 2000+ red orbs each time you do the secret mission. You can just keep going back into the secret mission and have an endless supply of red orbs.

I haven't had a chance to experiment with anything but Royal Guard and Trickster, unfortunately, but I plan on playing all the different styles and am SOOO looking forward to using the 2 secret styles. Royal Guard is quite useful when NOT fighting bosses since you're basically invincible. The damn Hell Vanguard in Mission 2 kept breaking my guard... and I didn't even bother using it on Cerberus.

I've found that I have the most fun doing Mission 1 over and over again as to orb farm. You can complete it in 1:30 and with an S, you get about 5,500 red orbs. Awesome possum.

Hmmm I didnt know anything about the 2 secret styles. I did pick up an item after beating a boss yesterday called Quicksilver but I dunno if thats it. I'll have to try the Mission 1 Tactic to get Red Orbs. Everything is so damn expensive.

Quicksilver would be one.

Just beat mission 5 and got Agni and Rudra. KICK ASS SWORDS. So far, I've died once fighting the Hell Vanguard, once fighting Cerberus, and once fighting Agni and Rudra. Not too bad.

Agni and Ruda are teh win. Love those damn swords. Apparently with quicksilver I can slow down time to combine combos kind of like a bullet time style. Don't worry dude Ive died once on almost all the main bosses too it takes a while to figure out their fighting patterns.

Hell yeah. A&R are just... WOW. I scrapped Rebellion and now have A&R with Cerberus as my R1 and R2. However, I think I'm going to miss my Stinger attack.

Wow. Quicksilver sounds pretty damn cool.

Haha. The bosses are quite the bastards.

It will not disappoint. Next week is also my spring break so I'll have some time to REALLY get into the game.

i beat this the other day. amazing game. 9.5/10.

A&R and rebellion are amazing with the swordmaster style. well once you get the hang of it. close range combat is the most satisfying imo.

and whats up with all these prequels??? first mgs now dmc.

Yeah the damn prequel trend is starting to get tiresome especially when it comes to movies (thank you George Lucas ) but when it comes to video games I don't mind them that much.

its definately a trend lol. not that i dont enjoy a bit of a back story to a game, its just that i want the story line to progress and we probably wont see mgs4 or dmc4 till the ps3 comes out. whenever that is.

First half of '06.

Pretty soon, actually. We might be seeing a DMC IV as soon as the end of '06 . If not, then definitely in '07.

Well I finally beat the game and I must say that it absolutely surpassed all of my expectations. I can't wait to level up my other styles and try out the harder difficulties.

Picked this up 2-3 weeks ago, on level 14 now. Quite a challenge, but I did not find it as impossibly hard as the reviews made it out to be, at least not on normal difficulty. Hats off to Capcom for the work they did on the bosses and their respective attack patterns. Button mashing is not going to get you anywhere here. Beating the bosses feels very rewarding this way as well.

The blazingly fast action more than makes up for the steep learning curve. I find myself doing mission 1 over and over again, not just to get orbs, but just because it's so damn fun to experiment with various weapons, styles and their respective moves and combos. In addition, the fights with Vergil rank among some of my alltime favourite gaming moments. They really manage to capture the feel of a proper duel, complete with clashing weapons and lightning fast speeds, which requires 100% of your attention and good reaction if you want to win them.

Trickster works best for me so far. Its dodging capabilities are vital to the way I play. That being said, Gunslinger's twosome time not only looks awesome, but is a very handy move to keep enemies from closing in on you from behind. I also need to try out a Royal Guard/Beowulf-combination, which potentially could make for some fierce martial arts ass whooping. Best weapon combo for me so far is still E&I/Rebellion. The superb speed makes up for what it lacks in power, and Stinger/Helmbreaker has proven to be a huge help.

To sum up, DMC3 lives up to the hype. Superb graphics, immense gameplay with lots of depth that never gets repetitive, a story that gets the job done and bucketloads of challenge which will make you burn countless hours (even though the thought of Dante Must Die is scary). Well done, Capcom. DMC3 gets the series back on its feet after the huge failure that was DMC2.
