Whoa this *is* gettin a little nuts ..........i even got a message from state01 management asking what my intentions are with the set ....... i mean, we do it for the music ....we love it, and we record it to 're-experience' the night, once we've got it for ourselves, doesn't take much to provide it to TA's who attended the party. Why not ! We've never asked for anything in return nor will we ever. This set is meant for people who actually attended the party........the quality's the best we've got so far by a longshot, but still, if i didn't attend the party, i would not be interested in a sub-professional set. In the perfect world, sets would be released professionaly by management and there would be no need for this. Whatever happened to the wintergalactic set and video we were all promissed????? I know the video was on TV apparently, but who has satellite. I really hope these sets get released as some people are talking about ......then next time we prolly won't go to the trouble, cause it takes forever. I just hope it actually gets out this time.

props to orkidea/armin/sonic state for the awesome night again !!!

hey, you had a chance to see the video, just like the rest of us did, and the video kicked ass so dont bash sonic state if you had no intention of showing up for the presentation....

Posted by Nihilist on Nov-20-2001 22:59:

I don't think he was bashing Sonic State for the video presentation. I think the old-school values that they are trying to abide by, instead of embracing the current age may be the point of contention.

Basically, it'd be 30x better if they just flat out released the set themselves, and were done with it.

:P

ditto.

Yeah i had absolutely no intention on bashing Sonic State ...they throw amazing parties unlike anyone else, and i don't plan on missing any of their raves. I couldn't make it for the presentation cause of midterms, and like Nihilist said, i just wish it'd be a lot easier to get their livesets/vids. I was soooo looking forward to seeing that vid, and it totally sucks that just cause i couldn't make it for that presentation i can't see it. I think we were all looking forward to the MPEG we could download...maybe it'll be easier in the future, i hope

Anyone have an update on the live sets? are they going to be available or should I not hold my breath?

Posted by Nihilist on Nov-22-2001 17:58:

The plan is that they get out and about. They do exist, yes. But from what I gather, the machine that they were on crashed, and that's why they aren't out just yet.

But that's my gist. Somebody may know more...

And if you are that somebody, update us!

Posted by Avenjah on Nov-22-2001 19:32:

the work on our sets is definitely on pause awaiting the official release .....let's have it!!! )))

Posted by DJ_Kismuth on Nov-26-2001 00:42:

it's coming along...

HAHA
i finished all the work on the two 70+ minute Orkeida tracks over the weekend from Sonic State 2001.

In my opinion they sound pretty good, I spent a decent amount of time fixing them up.
Avenjah should now have the entire Orkeida set that I edited, so we are moving forward from there. I am not in charge of distribution, so we are still working on that.

The AVB portion will be available in a few days, i'd imagine.
We are being careful about the distribution of these sets, because of the good points the Swamper brought up in page 1 of this thread...
we don't want to piss anyone off over this, and risk the big DJs saying "screw you guys."
----
ps: Pete Tong, Dave Seaman, Noel Sanger...and.....Tiesto were in Chicago over the weekend-- i got Tiesto's autograph and shook his hand twice, he told me thank you for coming out (his English is not that bad)-- i couldnt believe it, i was so happy.

Posted by Nihilist on Nov-26-2001 01:32:

As I said, I'd be happy to contribute some bandwidth. That, and I really want the damn sets!

;D

I have completed the editing on the Orkeida and AVB sets.

avenjah has them now and will be working with swamper on the distribution of the sets.

I think they sound really good for mini disc.

Ok, all of you looking for these 2 sets, I have found out that these are available in a myplay.com locker... here are the details:

www.myplay.com
e-mail: [email protected]
pass: signout

All files are split with HJSplit (download here), so after downloading, rename them using the following convention, in order to be able to join them with hjsplit:

filename.001.mp3 --> filename.mp3.001
(just rename all the files like this, and load the .001 files into the HJSplit in order to join them)

Orkidea's set has been recorded in 3 parts (Part 1 = 101MB, Part 2 = 98MB, Part 3 = 39MB) and Armin's is in 2 parts (Part 1 = 44MB, Part 2 = 85MB). And all these have been split into 24MB files in order to fit the myplay.com locker (they don't accept files larger than that).

So, thanks to whoever uploaded these, and please SIGNOUT after you are done downloading, so the locker doesn't get shut down!

Posted by Nihilist on Dec-04-2001 17:12:

fantom: mad thanks. Been waiting on the sets for a while. I'll see if I can donate some bandwidth to the cause.

(After I get it, of course... ;D)

Posted by Crazy Serb on Dec-04-2001 17:30:

I almost forgot --> Huge thanks goes to Avenjah, Dj Kismuth and all others who recorded this set and made it available to us... respect!

What you do then is take all those .mp3 files, delete the .MP3 extension, so you are left with .001, .002... files, load all the .001 files into the hjsplit (separately, because there are 5 of those I believe), press that JOIN button, and you will have yourself one huge file with no extension... now just add the .MP3 extension to that file and you're all set!
At the end you should end up with 3 parts of Orkidea's set and 2 parts of Armin's set.

Hope that helps...

Don't ask me... I guess he was on much longer than Armin.
By the way, the last 20 mins or so of Armin's set are missing since the person who was recording it had to leave earlier (or that's what I was told).

Select a file, press F2 (or right-click and choose RENAME), delete the .mp3 part of the filename, and press ENTER. Could I be more specific...?

Cheerz
