| Glad to have met a few peeps, I must make a formal appology to Max (MaxTO) for our 2nd encounter that night, I feel like a dumb ass, I again appologise. |
Woah! It's about time I've seen those tribal freaks!
So, to add to all the reviews.
First of all, thanks to all the peeps that came out. I really like hanging out with every single one of you. Nice meeting you Steve. You got those MTL moves down pat even if you have never been there.
Jeff, still have to tell us what happened Monday! Thanks for coming by.
"Andy, why you dancing over there?", "There is this girl....". That made me laugh.
Graham, I do also feel bad for the natives. No matter what he says.
DG, your chi is dirty, you must cleanse it.
Elmo, I was so proud of myself for remembering your name! It was nice seeing you out again.
Jenna and Mike, nice seeing you out again and partying it up.
Kevin, I didn't chain you down but you still did a good job on the decks in the afternoon. But both Ray and Kev have to watch out, RJ has been practicing.
MaxTO, I'm glad you liked Boa.
Abood, I hope your friend was OK, it's always nice seeing your smiling face at Boa.
Jennypie, girl fed me so many compliments my head was going to explode. You rock, and Jimmy is awesome. Next time you wanna hear nice things, come to me!
As for the music, it was outstanding! People told me Clive Henry was going to be boring! Pfffft! He really stepped it up. And he is cute! Behrouz, played well too but it was an up and down set where it got spurts of energy in between nice heavy beats.
What a wild wild night. I knew just based on the people who were going to be there that this night would be something special.
Started out the evening meeting Steve @ Esso in Hamilton, where i did my usual routine of two redbulls on the way to get in prime time form. We arrived shortly after 1am, to find the new booth still empty! I was really looking forward to it, but i guess we'll have to wait until next week.
Sean started things off real deep and dark, staying away from his usual sleezy sexy sound. A lot of the TA's in attendence have never heard this side of him before, and were quite delighted to hear it! *coughkevincough*. Record after record, he brought his sound up a couple notches right up until Clive took over. By 3am the main room was rockin hard, and Mr. Henry was ready to release the techy goodness we were all craving......
With no hesitation, Clive Henry came on and just started bombing without warning. As others have said, not the most technical dj out there - but MAN OH MAN does he have some serious records. For two hours straight he took us on a romp of insanely heavy tunage, giving us no chance for resting our weary legs. As the set progressed, the tracks got chunkier, and just downright nasty. I can begin to try ID'ing any of his tracks, but Matt Coleridge seemed to know a few of him when we spoke briefly. His set went by WAY to quickly, before we knew it, 5am. I know of some who have said he is somewhat of a 'snoozer' dj. If thats their idea of a snoozefest - sign me the fuck up every time.
Behrouz then hit the decks, and delivered exactly what i expected.... at first. Drifting in and out of melodic type tracks for the first hour or so he found his groove at around 6am. Things got a little harder aftet the first hour, and by 7am he was dropping some serious ass shakin beats. Very groovy, funked up shit going down in the early hours on Sunday kept most people who were left dancing with what little energy they had left. I think it was around 8:00am when my legs, head, body had just about taken in all they could - so i sat down by the back bar with Carey as we were both totally spent.
Then - something happened that brought back what seemed every ounce of energy i had at the very beginning of the night....... Behrouz dropped Sean Miller's remix of "Biruta", which brought both Carey and i up to our feet, and running straight for the dancefloor. The place was energized once again, and going off like it was primetime again. Except what we thought was primetime, was just a warmup it turns out. Behrouz got the crowd to recognize Sean for his incredible track, the ovation was given, and then moments later - Behrouz hands the headphones over to Miller. Didnt see this coming at all, back to back madness with Miller & Behrouz?!? You kiddin me?? This is seriously when the party was at its peak as far as the music goes in my opinion. Sean dropped one of his new tracks (the title slips my mind), as well as a new edit he's just finished that may be my new favourite track at the moment. Ive had the bassline and melody of this track in my head non stop since this party, and i cant wait to hear it again. Its an absolute gem. Very deep and groovy just the way i like it these days.
The lights came on, and myself, Steve and Andy made our way over to Ray and Margs to sip on the finest coffee ever made, and sink my sweaty ass into their lovely sofa.
Too many TA's to mention without forgetting someone, you all know who you are. You guys seriously made this a night to rememeber, and i hope we can get the same class act group out more often. Seriously good times.

Everything I wanted to say about the night has already been said.
Great night, great people [esp abood, man, it was good partying with you for the first time since NY's], good times. Seriously, I have yet to be dissapointed with a boa outing.
