My favourites have to be:
House of Flying daggers
Hero (Brilliantly filmed and a good story)
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Classic movie, I love it)
And many more...

But notice all my chosen movies have a certain person in:

Zhang Ziyi.

I rented Warriors of Heaven and Earth on the weekend. It was pretty good, but not amazing.

Also, Samurai Fiction is a great film. It's like a traditional samurai movie with alittle bit of modern stuff added.. (not like samurai champloo or anything).

Ong Bak was pretty good, my subtitles stopped half way through, so I didn't understand alot. ahah.

The Master Swordsman is pretty good also. It's actually a miniseries, but it has a dvd release now, formated like a proper movie. You can tell it's made for TV, but it's pretty good anyways. Long, alot of fights, interesting story.

I still need to rent that new zatoichi movie.. looks good.

"Ringu" was the first horror film I really enjoyed (the rest was either comedy, senseless gore or excessive sequence of disturbing images), I thought it was excellent. The second film was nice because I wanted to know what the ending would be like. The third film was pretty much like Shiri - it was good for the first couple of minutes and it became boring.

"Crouching tiger, hidden dragon" was also amazing.

"Welcome Back, Mr McDonald" was hilarious.

"Hakuchi" from Kurosawa was quite entertaining as well, although "Rhapsody in August" (or some other month) was rather boring.

just saw

One Missed Call (sucked) don't waste your time. ringu with cellphones.

All 26 Zatoichi movies from 1960 to 1980s... watched 1 & 2, they were pretty sweet, continuin the saga through this weekend...

The new one 2003 is ok/decent/good. wikd blood fx.

World without thieves - worth watching.
The Twilight Samurai - worth watching.
PingPong - cool... but expected more.

Nooo waaay man its Asian cinema - its when they strike a cool pose and the camera zooms in on them for like 10 seconds, especially in action movies. It's in anime, too, watch Jin-Roh, and you'll notice the average scene goes like this:

3 People are standing around, looking at the sky/ground.
One person says something without moving his body or eyes.
2 minutes pass, everyone is still.
Another person says something without moving his body/eyes.
3 minutes pass, everyone is still, sounds of birds in the distance.
Sad music starts playing, random zooms on the 3 people's still faces
Shot zooms in on the sunset
Scene over
I go: "WTF" and smash my teevee in a fit of rage

Have you guys seen Running out of Time with andy lau and lau ching wan? Excellent movie nice action and some funny twists that movie rules. Anything with Stephen Chow is total ownage except for God of Cookery that movie sucked balls.

I love all the gambling movies, they are so ridiculously over the top.

Legend of speed is good, I think Jp would like it showcases like subarus

any body seen Young and Dangerous series?
