in my original post i suggested one thing based on experience, so here's the story behind that
about a year and a half ago, mbbe a bit less even, got together with a girl i'd known since about 3 years before but never really talked to or anything (liked her 3 years ago but right then some other guy asked her out and they were together until last spring)
so i asked her out in december i think, everything was great, things were still good and all, and then in april (day after my birthday i might add, and probably only then cause i was out of town on my birthday :mad
she dumped me rather abruptly. and she was definately really upset about it, we went for a drive cause 'we needed to talk', and she was absolutely bawling and couldn't even really drive when i dropped her off at her car. so a few weeks went by with me trying my best to distance myself from her and not talk to or think about her cause i knew it wasn't good for me
given about a month we started talking, talking turned to hanging out, and before school was even out we were more or less back together.
we ran to each other first when we had problems, spent time together doing various things in a good amount of both of our free time, and of course started sleeping together more than before.
and it woulda been fine in the long run, but that continued from may until late august when we both went off to college
well she went to college out of state. i'm stuck in the same damn town at UMass
so at the end of the summer i had prepared myself to break things off for good, tough as it would be, and so one night we went to dinner and it was kinda awkward and we got back to where she was parked and i was taking a second for a deep breath and summoning up the courage to say what i wanted to and she just said 'eh i'm sure i'll see you again sometime before i leave' and i just said bye and sat there
i didn't see her again before she left for college, i never got the resolution i wanted
so all fall and all winter it bugged me
hell i never even knew why we broke up
speaking of that i finally got the guts to ask cause i don't even feel like i'm ready for anyone else until i resolve everything and the answer i got was that she didn't feel for me like she did when we got together, and that she didn't want to lead me on
...so if she didn't want to lead me on, why did she do exactly that all summer and never hint she was thinking otherwise...
so the moral of the story: on multiple occasions i've had the opportunity to break things off and never pulled through. and almost a year later, its still eating away at me. she still wants to hang out when we're in town too, and once in a while i'll do it but its not the same. so yeah, i hope you won't make the same mistake i did. for his sake, don't try to be just friends, let it go
Does Guy have a new gf perchance?
If not I guess there is always the risk.
I'm in a similar situation at the moment, but on a small scale in terms of length of relationship and time apart.
Saw my ex of 1 year 3 months for the first time in 2 months last friday, and it wasn't as weird as I was worried it might be.
That said, she did seem a bit introverted if I was about, but when you've lived together and stuff emotions can get all over the place.
She was the one who initiated the break up (which at the time I really couldn't accept, but in retrospect it really was the best thing to do for the 2 of us), and I was a wreck for a long while, but I guess I have moved on in the required amount, and I don't want her out of my life, she's a great friend
Good luck with whatever Girl chooses to do
Does girl still have feelings for guy? Doesn't girl want to find that out? Could girl say why guy isn't a person girl trusts anymore? Could I call girl by her name? Can we baptise the guy as "Richard"? (maybe he was a Dick?).
I know a Guy named Nou who has experience in a similar situation except he was the "Guy" who was taking advantage of the "friendship".

theresa -
i think you said in the original post that the relationship lasted 3 years. now that is a pretty huge chunk of your life and obviously i understand you care for the guy. i don't think there's anything wrong with keeping the guy in your life and remaining on a friendly level with him. just don't put yourself out there unprotected... what i mean is... don't trust him, don't rely on everything he says, don't go out of your way to do things for him. i have many ex-"Guys" who i am still friends with to this day, even after some shitty breakups.
then again, if he fucked you over that bad... well, some people just deserve to lose.
be strong and good luck with however you choose to handle the situation.
If the girl is you, and it's the same asshole we all talked about months ago, then no. Do not re-establish ties. If not, I don't know. Depends on the situation. Actually it really depends on how the girl feels, anyway. Either she wants to have a platonic relationship or not. If she's tempted and still has interest in the guy, she should get out of there ASAP. No need for additional drama.
He's just looking to fuck. Really.

| Originally posted by Theresa OK here is the scenario: Guy and Girl are together for three years. They loved each other, things were awesome, until the last year where everything went to shit. They break up, lots of pain and tears. The Guy and Girl stop talking, Girl tries to cut Guy out of her life. Several months after break up, Guy calls Girl pleading to at least still be friends. Girl somewhat complies by agreeing to at least talk and be civil. Nearly a year after break up, Guy calls Girl and says he wants to hang out like regular friends. Girl is unsure if this is a good idea. Girl does not have romantic feelings for Guy. Girl knows that she will never get back with Guy, EVER. Girl does not fully trust Guy, even in simple and seemingly innocent situations. Girl is unsure of Guys intentions; if there are any? Girl would like to be friends with Guy because she still cares about him as a person. Guy says he misses being around Girl. Guy says he knows that Guy and Girl will not get back together. If any more info is needed, you may ask ![]() Basically the question is, what should Girl do? Should she try and be friends, hang out with him and see how it goes? Or is it doomed to end in disaster? Should Girl cut Guy out of her life permanently? Thanks for the thoughts! |

kidding
the 'girl' could use the 'guy' as a fuck buddy & just have sex on demand. This will play on the guys emotions. Then the 'girl' will probably later start having interests in a 'second party' & the first 'guy' will get jealous. The 'guy' will become emotionally bitter & start taunting & harassing the 'girl' with numerous phone calls & surprise visits. The guy also will seek help from all HER friends & try to turn them against her. The 'girl' will become upset & start freaking out & may even post a summary of event in teh CORe. The CORians will say something like "stop all contact with the guy" & she will be upset & COR will be consoling in an intraweby sorta big bruva way. Then things may turn to the worse & the 'girl' has stopped posting in teh CORe because the 'guy' has killed her because he couldnt have his one true love. But then he ghost of the 'girl' comes to haunt the 'guy' for the rest of his existence. The 'guy' eventually becomes fat by eating too much McDonalds.
Hypothetical of course!
while we're naming things that shouldn't happen, how about this?

....& STAY OUT!!!
funny pic is that a real dog or a stunt double?
He is just trying to get back with the girl cause he's lonely. Maybe a piece of ass, but I say the dudes lonely. Does the dude have another girl kickin.? If he doesnt, im right.
dont bother with it

The dude's workin an angle with the ultimate hope to bone Girl...really simple.
Alright, so Girl put some serious thought into this. She reviewed some of her journals, and spoke with some friends who knew more about the situation, and every single one suggested staying far far away from him.
So, Girl has decided to avoid Guy. It's a shame that it came to this conclusion, but Girl agrees that it is best for her in the long run.
yeah, Theresa is all about the relationship threads...
