Posted by AquaYak on Mar-14-2005 02:01:

he has spurts it kinda wierd. ive seen him enough to know whether hes good or not. he definately does most stuff right but he has been known the wreck quite a bit.

Posted by Mortyman on Mar-14-2005 07:14:

OK, back to Misja Helsloot

Can anyone else see this guy doing things like I can see him doing?

Posted by AquaYak on Mar-14-2005 07:17:

the two songs at one time and amplified bass hits and samplign was wicked. danny mentioned he used the loop function on the cdjs but i didnt even notice! pro.

Posted by Mortyman on Mar-14-2005 08:40:

So today I was really practicing playing 2 songs with added basslines and samples.........

I got no loop function on my mixer or anything, but it's foooookin hard

So hard to get the timing down pact, and even the right high's and everything together... Goddamn, the man is a genius!

Sorry Timur, but it was The Legacy!!! There's no mistaking it, if anyone knows that track, you're talking to him

Everything else I agree with you! OUTSTANDING!

I said it before and I'm going to stick to it... Misja Helsloot is the next Johan Gielen!

Oh man, Misja is 10x than Johan could ever dream about.

and you'll never find out MUAHAHAHAHA

Posted by AquaYak on Mar-16-2005 08:08:

Personally, i dont think we should ever talk about what happened that night. It was almost really really bad. We'd have to go to calgary to see trance shows.

Posted by apri_peel on Mar-16-2005 13:34:

sean you make it sound like something horrific happened

yeah, it was bad, but that just shows how retarded some people are and the lack of respect some people have for others, just human nature crap really. life goes on, misja will survive, so will all those who attended the event

Posted by Prism on Mar-16-2005 19:29:

so the question of the day what happened then? )

Posted by j_spot on Mar-16-2005 19:32:

from what I understand, some guys were in the club, and assaulted some partiers, and hit misja as well.

but Ive only heard 2nd hand.

Posted by Mortyman on Mar-16-2005 20:45:

while standing at the back of the club, I saw alot of commotion by the back exit, then I ran over to see what happened....

Some "fucked-off-his-head" dude tried to start shit with Misja... probably not knowing whatsoever who he was. A punch, or push happened, and that's about it really.

I saw the same dude about 1/2 hour earlier totally harrassing the, ummmmmm hot, bartender. She was laughing, but after a few minutes.... she looked seriously agitated. Tim and I were thinkn we should step in... but he was a pretty big dude, and it was both our first time there.

Better that we didn't, or we would have been the ones causing trouble

Posted by ten7ryder on Mar-16-2005 20:49:

and the fact that the bouncer did not show any respect to Misja and his girlfriend when they were at the door

Posted by Tayfoon on Mar-16-2005 21:54:

Here is what happened:

I was standing at the smoke pit with my friends, Misja was by the door with his GF, a drunk nammer (lets call him retard), well he was beyond drunk, was hitting on Misja's gf, Misja didnt say anything to the guy or do anything but the retard noticed that she was with Misja, he then wanted to fight him, while the only bouncer there who is actually smaller then me, and that doesnt say much was holding retard back, 6-7 of his friends came in, surrounded Misja and then one of them proceeded to bitch slap him in the face from the side, Misja wasnt ready for this in the slightest, then it died down a bit.

Retard didnt get kicked out, or did and came back in, later on in the night he punched someone else and instigated more shit with fellow T.A's including myself, nothing escelated into a fight.

Overall Misja Helsloot played an amazing set and I can only imagine what he wouldve done if he wasnt pissed

Danny had no controll over this since he was playing, and he doesnt really controll security @ Viva

Posted by moth on Mar-16-2005 23:21:

Well, that is rather awful.

Posted by j_spot on Mar-16-2005 23:39:

of course you cant hold the promoter responsible. People do crazy things. even more so when under the influence(alcohol, drugs, whatever)

And unless escorted in by somebody the bouncer knows(promoter, employee) I dont ever expect a bouncer to show respect to a DJ, they dont know them from a fly on the wall.

In fact, Misja was escorted by Danny himself, but that didn't matter to the bouncer.

Posted by j_spot on Mar-17-2005 00:02:

then that does suck.

Posted by Tayfoon on Mar-17-2005 00:03:

Danny was spinning at the time the incident took place

he only found out after it happened

Posted by moth on Mar-17-2005 00:21:

I'd say this whole thing just boils down to bad luck. Wrong place, wrong time.
