the only stuff i use besides the vaseline is softlips in mint flavor. it feels nice and cool on your lips and it's very silky.
other than that i'm not really into chapstick..i only use it when my lips are chapped...i'm a lip gloss whore. i have like 20 different lip glosses....like lancome juicy tubes, chanel, and my new favorite is Vincent Longo from Sephora in "Baci"...it's like a watermelon color.

| Kiss chapped lips goodbye Lips are one of the most exposed and unprotected areas of the body. They can easily become chapped, turn red, crack or even bleed. They have an extremely thin outer skin layer and unlike other parts of the face, have few oil producing and moisturizing, glands nearby. Most cases of dry, chapped lips can be addressed with an over the counter lip balm. "Most of the year it's definitely an ongoing struggle to keep lips moisturized," says Lori Fedoronko, M.D., Beaumont dermatologist. "The lips don't have a lot of natural protection and often need a little extra attention." As lips become chapped, people tend to lick their lips in an attempt to moisten them. This is not a good habit, according to Dr. Fedoronko. She says the saliva soothes dry, cracked lips momentarily, but causes the situation to get worse over the long-term. She says that enzymes in saliva break down and take away a lot of the protective oils on the lips, making them dry out more each time the lips are licked. Dr. Fedoronko says most cases of dry, chapped lips can be addressed with an over-the-counter lip balm. Occasionally a stronger hydrocortisone cream may be needed to bring the swelling and dryness under control and some severe cases may require a visit to a dermatologist for more aggressive treatments. |
this is the best shit around for ultra chapped lips!

| Originally posted by Slylee for girls...just use vaseline...i keep a big jar of petroleum jelly under the sink because it serves lots of purposes. it's great for taking off eye makeup and then when my lips are chapped, i use it for that, and it actually looks better than any lip gloss i've ever used. it even brings out the pink color in your lips from being chapped, so it looks like u have pink lip gloss on. it's like not even a dollar for a tub of it too |

i have vaseline container by my bed for my chapped lips. just glob some on every night before going to bed, and it slowly evaporates over night and also gets rid of dead skin. by the morning u just rub your lips in water, and the dead skin comes off, and your lips are nice and light pink.
