that's not true! cuz on the other hand a lot of people there @ system (holden fans/non fans) thought his set was very good and were dancing to it to prove you wrong! it's a matter of personal taste, Graham, while you might find a set boring , others might not, so there's no general rule to it, even more don't you agree that a DJ might be spectacular in one night and mediocre/boring/shitty in another night? i don't think generalization works here.

Graham, i never said you can's expresss your disappointment/discontent with a DJ that you don't like/enjoy whatever, you're entitled to your opinion about everyone and everything, it's quite obvious though that disrespecting a DJ is different than expressing discontent (unless you think that in every circumstance that we disagree we should go around and give them a "fuck"?), it's how you say it, not what you say, also as i already mentioned, no one forces you to sit and watch Holden or any other "boring" DJ that you don't like, it's pretty simple you don't like him/her you don't attend. there's no guarantee that a DJ will defintely rock, that's how you expect it to be, based on your assumptions/personal taste, to give you an example, one of your favorite house DJs "Steve Lawler" , last time when he was at System, many people here expressed their discontent with his set in the review thread, they were expecting more and he didn't live up to their expectations, but does that entitle them to say "fuck lawler"? i don't think so, DJs have good and bad nights.
also so you're saying since you don't like Holden, he shouldn't be spinning, just so Desyn can spin more? that's pure selfishness there, so people who actually want come to hear James should not see him (and FYI there's a lot of them), cuz you don't want him to spin? very sad to hear that!

this is not personal, and i'm not defensive of Holden, i like his work, so do i like Desyn, but my point is in general, this is not the first time i see this from you, and it won't be the last time, but my point is, people who are professionals, never make such comments on this site (good example :Gamma, aaron mossey, John Tang,Denis Hahn, Brad Copland etc), cuz they are professionals and know that personal taste aside, peers in the industry are worth the minimum respect at least, cuz it takes a lot of guts and hard work to acomplish even the least that someone like Holden or any other DJ has accomplished. party goers like you , are just consumers and see it from that POV.
btw, i made that comment about you cuz i have respect for you and always thought you're more intelligent to make such "ways of expresions"! if i thought you're an idiot, i'd have just ignored your comment, so it's not an attack, it was just a hint so maybe you realize it's not really descent.
the rest is up to you

desyn's EM was incredible, and im really looking forward to him too. think this will be a great night!

Prog House as you can say it in general yes. Desyn touches other genre's of House when he play's, it's got a feeling of 80's, some experimental electro-funk as well. Holden is great but he get's too monotonous after a while.

Karim

His set that he played in Dec 2003 was more like the Balance release - almost half the tracks off that release were played that night and arguably Balance 005 was compilation of the year that year......OUTHOUSE,JASE FROM Outta SPACE,Petter... sooo many good tracks. I will never tire of this cd - even after 100 listens - the perfect mix of all things electronic......

His next appearance after that in the fall 2004 (system) - IMO - was not as good as DEC 2003 and I think HOLDEN is a GOD!!!! (While on shrooms - HORIZONS changed my perspective on shit - for real!). SO I am looking forward to the 6th of May for the only reason that it has been six months since his last appearance - and he will be playing NEW STUFF - he is always ahead in what he spins and boy do I love to be educated to the new shit. Hopefully he can find the right "Balance" of beats and aural delights to make everyone happy!!! There's a fine line sometimes between prog-lag and prog-brag. I think we will hear the latter!! James and DM back to back will be HEAVEN!!

Everyone should come!!!!

yes, that's what i was thinking.

anyone know of set times.

i would really want to go see Desyn but by himself. Holden has always been just meh when he is here.

I personally have enjoyed Holden every time I've seen him... his productions are VERY solid.

I have not had a chance to see Desyn yet, so I can't wait for this!

See you al there!

And PS - come on guys, let's not get pissy... everyone is entitled to their opinion, I think what espresso is objecting to is your strong use of language and generalization... but I thinkhis response was a little over the top.

Take a step back, and a deep breath! both of you!
