Bloke has been in bar for two hours... comes to play and he is so hammered he can't even get his records out of his bag. He can't see the pitch control and suprisingly mixes smooth as anything. 30 minutes later is slurs in my ear that he can't carry on as he is too pissed, at this moment he vomits on my record bag and on the light jock. He then leaves me with my vomit covered record bag to play for 3 and half hours ( I have no issues with playing a set this length but like to have a few more records with me when I do). What's worse is that he still got paid in full about 25 times more than what I got paid that night. I also had to throw away a perfectly good UDG bag with wheels. Cheers Nem |
Had a set start time at 11... this DJ that was on before me had some MC guy with him. so time came for me to start my set. i was recording for a live demo this night... so put my first track on and this MC starts to try and rap to a banging prog house track!!! i was like what the fuk!
he was on a platform down below me so i couldnt just tell him to shut the fuk up... anyway he fuked my entire demo cd and i was pissed for about an hr into my set... this guy had no idea what the hell was goin on... i think he was a bit drunk. douchbag
should have seen some of the people in the bar looking at him like what is he doin...
I just hope they didnt think it was my idea!
oh yea forgot to say he olny lasted about 1min... it was to funny he sounded like bone-thugs but really bad! lol
Was his mic connected to your mixer? If it was I would of unplugged it or turned it all the way down.

a BIT of a pisshead?????
just a little bit...........put it this way, if you ever book Blocko and Alex P ( his partner in crime) then you had better take out extra insurance for your booth.....nutters the pair of them and twatted 99% of the time
Brandon Block was also vaught dealing E by a bbc journalist.
he was making a program on the drug culture in ibiza
Bad Boy Bill? Threw an extra B in there.
I had some dumbass try scratching on the playing record while I was getting ready to cue up the oncoming record.
He ended up getting his ass kicked later for other circumstances along with the above.
Its a long story but to shorten it, I held on to the CUE button on the pio1000s instead of pressing play.
this is kinda funny. it was my buddies set but whatever. i was there with him.
his first track was off cd and Talla 2xlc (whose set was just before) pressed pause or eject? i can't remember. it was funny though!
i've had the normal stuff happen.
but the worst though that really pisses me off but still makes me laugh to this day was playing at an outdoor stage during the day... and well i was lucky enough to have the sun beating down on the decks the for most of my set. many of my records were unplayable after taking them off the decks. they bent noticably in my hands it was funny in a really pissed off sorta way.
This is proabably the mous embarissing thing I ever have done while playing.
So it was this one night, I was out to have a good time with my friends, at my neighbours house, and I had been drinking a lot(!). Suddenly I was called up by the main DJ on a big club down town, he asked me to come over and play there, as drunk I was, I souldent do it, but I love to play, so I said yes, and answered no to the "have you been drinking Very much?"-question he asked me. He asked me to bring my Disk Man, and I did. (I have a very old labour one).
The night before, in the club, both of the CD players had gone in the floor and therefor one of them didnt work, and the other didnt have a display any more. So I had to bring my Disk Man as a distress-solution.
So there I stod with one CD player without display and one old Disk Man.
Later that night while I was playing, and it was very crowded, I was going to change the CD in one of the players, but I didnt remember if I was playing from the CD player or the Disk Man at the moment, so I just guessed I was playing from the CD-players...but that was wrong... So in middle of a song, and when the dance floor was very full, I pushed the stop button on the Disk Man. And you could hear the beeep sound from the Disk Man on the speakers when I pushed the stop button.
The other DJ in the club who stand by my side at the moment, was just rolling on the floor while laughing, and there I stod like a jackass, trying to put the music back on. But in my condition I didnt thinking of just cross fade to the other CD player, or mute the sound while I was trying to find the song I just played, so everytime I changed the track number, you could hear the beeep sound, and when I finally got the right track, I started to do a fast forward on the song to where the song stopped...
And when I finally did find the right spottin the song, the other DJ was still lying on the floor, laughing..
That is the last time I am going ro drink while mixing with Disk Man, even though I dont think I will get the offer to do it so offen any more
how do you dj with a discman?

It is almoust impossible, you always haft to pitch the song that is playing on the CD player, and you cant cue or anything - so it is like A83 said - boody hell hard...it will never be any good DJing when you do it, but that was our only option.
