Wow, just wow. This was my first Ultra and I had a blast. Unfortunatly I was forced to drive down to Miami on Saturday morning, had to babysit a bean comedown, thanks and you know who you are. We got to Miami and were in Ultra around 6 P.M. When we got there Carl Cox was tearing it up in his tent!! Good way to start the day. We finally found the main stage and caught the end of Junkie XL's set. Very cool DJ. He reminded me of Donald Glaude with his leaving the tables and trying to pump up the crowd. Then came Tiesto. I don't know why, but I just wasn't feeling his set. Maybe I've seen him too many times? So, my friends and I left the main stage and walked around. Thank God we did cause we found the Erick Morillo tent. I was dancing my ass off in the tent. Made it pretty close to the front and to the right and claimed a 5 foot diameter dance circle and went off!! Then Seb Fontaine came on and tore it up. Not as energetic as Erick, but still good. I was sweating my ass of by now. Then somehow I ran into Coleen and Amber. Very nice to see some familiar faces. Sorry about being so sweaty! Then finished the night with PVD. The whole crowd was bouncing to PVD. Was going to go to the American Airlines afterparty but the lines were huge and they didnt move for the hour we sat there waiting. All in all it was a wonderfull experience. Thank you Miami

got there around 2 pm. when i got there there were no schedules so everyone got pens and paper and went to this one window with the schedule up.
i was gonna go off nasty on the board about this but thankfully the schedules showed up
so anyways no cameras allowed this yr uhhhhhhhh yeah it sucks i bought a disposable right before cameras were 20 bucks inside and they werent the ones that give u the digital pics so f that..
stayed in amphitheater whole time didnt walk around
the djs
1) donald glaude(1-2) ( i got there at 2 but he played like 30 min more.-awesome energy first time hearing him. he was dancing in front of booth. crowd was into it
2) Infected Mushroom (2-3) first time seein em they were great. liked their unique sound. great live PA
3) Christopher Lawrence (3-4) just voted america's top dj. he brought some sick hard trance. liked his set
4) Infusion-(4-445) : im sure ill be ripped for this but i thought infusion sucked this yr. the crowd was not into it either it was pretty dead. i was disappointed. im sure they brought it at the clubs though.
5) Ferry Corsten-(445-545) - same set time as Armin van buuren on another stage but i stayed to hear ferry. i was so tired i didnt even want to deal with the crowd. heard armin rocked it but so did ferry. second fav set of day goes to ferry.
the crowd was goin nuts. esp to rock ur body.....
6) Paul Oakenfold(6-730) most of the TA's that i saw at ULTRA thought he sucked. I liked it. played some old stuff. good set
7) JunkieXL(730-830) (lots of people sat down during this set resting for tiesto who was next) by the end though junkie xl was destryin it with "red pill blue pill" sickkkkkkkk
Tiesto-(830-1030) set was boring to me i walked around . wanted to leave at this point.
at least he played "love comes again", "force of gravity" and "traffic" which i loved he also played "just be" which i dont like much but the crowd dug it. (mind u i was so tired at this point i was dizzy and felt like passin out so that might have attributed to not enjoying it. but even so ive heard way better from tiesto.... went to eat during his set..... felt a lot better for pvd)
9) PVD (1030-12) i am not a big fan of the harder trance but damn pvd played great today. at first i didnt like it like the first 25 min but he just destroyed it . He destroyed Tiesto tonite.
from Signum, to when i was in my car leaving (always leave 15 min early cuz of traffic) "time of our lives" love that shit..... and "for an angel" and the rest was just all new hard shit i have never heard
he rocked that place
i have never seen the amphiteahter that packed. must have been 25,0000 in there at least. it was ridiculous.
time to rest thank god the week is over lol
raul damn ur lucky u got ur camera in i didnt oh well
ta's i saw and hung with a bit
melly mel, jasin, eric, relik, and leann during infected mushroom and outside when i was in wilcall
Wow,I will never forget my fist Ultra. Got there really early at 12:00 and hung around at some of the tents. Me and my cousin went to the sound stage and caught NU-NRG, that shit was crazy! I was dancing my ass off and even caught some attention from the cameras. After that I tried out some of the Pioneer DJ equipment since I had never used a CD deck, they arn't bad but it was close to impossible to do anything with all the bass in the background haha. Once 4 rolled around I decided to go see Armin which was awsome, even though I wish I had caught more of Ferry. I got to the main stage while he was playing Out of The Blue, I almost died there haha. My cousin and I slowly worked our way up to the very center front row, seriously, no one but the DJ in front of us. Paul's set had me going, had alot of fun during his play time. Junkie came on and I was a little tired out from Paul so I just enjoyed the music, and took some pics.
Next was Tiesto, this was the highlight of my night for about 10 min. before it all flipped upside down. I had been watching my cousin and she looked tired as hell. I asked her over and over again if she was fine but she kept insisting she was. After Tiesto had played for a bit, she looks over and tells me she's going out, I was like "what?" Then she just collapsed. That fucking scared the hell out of me. I caught her and asked these other 2 guys to help get her out. We slowly advanced her right to the railing at the front and lifted her over it. We were signaling the damn officials to come help but they thought we were just waving our arms to the music. Finally someone saw her and took her away. After that I couldn't leave since it was so packed so I just tried my hardest to enjoy the rest of the show. It really sucked cause I was having about half the fun I wanted to be having since she wasn't there. Anyways people around me assured me she would be alright so I tried to put it out of my mind and rocked to Tiesto's set and took some more pics. I know you all saw Tiesto throw out some of the vinyl. Well one of them was caught by a guy right next to me who was a DJ, he was so happy haha. It was a title by Alucard called "Lighthouse" Tiesto had written ISOS on the label so it could mean this song is going to be on ISOS4, I took a pic of the vinyl as well. By the time Paul came I seriously wanted to end this thing since I wanted to go find my cousin, but I was still enjoying my self.
When it was finally over I met her at the point we said we would meet if we got separated and (this is what I love about her) she was so embarassed about the whole thing, she was laughing her ass of haha. She said she was pissed she missed Tiesto espicailly after finally reaching the very front of the crowd. I don't know if any of you noticed, but if you saw Tiesto looking down at the crowd for a few seconds with a worried look on his face near the start of his set then you know why. I told her that he had looked at her and looked worried and she was just so happy that Tiesto had cared about her
. Anyways it was definatly one of the best days of my life. I have the camera sitting right next to me waiting to be developed so by tomorrow I should have pics from the front row and the vinyl Tiesto tossed out. See you next year Ultra!

blah blah blah. Am I the only one that thinks PVD's set was 100000000000000x better than Tiesto's. Don't get me wrong Tiesto started off great but I just got really bored and sat down the rest of his set.
PVD's set had me dancing non-stop! No matter how tired I was feeling, he played awesome pumping tunes! He is DA MAN indeed.
The best acts I saw last night were.. Junkie XL, Armin, PVD
&
SASHA AND JOHN DIGWEED!!!!!
the after party was massively insane. It had a great vibe. I loved hanging out the the Colorodo TA's and ATL Ta's! You guys rock
It was 5 in the morning when it ended and I wish it could have kept on going! I hope they keep on with the After party! Best idea ever

IMO, best PvD set ever!!! Perfect blend of hard, new, classics, epic... just perfect. I have seen him 19 times now and I have had time to process his set minus the emotional "OMFG" stuff and I still stand strong on this opinion. I loved his new track with Peter Hepner vocals. I MUST GET! I was screaming, "Don't ever stop playing!" If only that could be the case
. Simply put, it was a moment in time I wish I could have frozen forever
awesome pics. Damn I wish I made it.

NU NRG & Armin were

Ultra was overall a good time. Nothing like going crazy with 30,000+ people with something in common
One thing I was really pissed off about was the fact that Edgar V wasn't on the flyer...WTF?!?
Got screwed yet again...
As far as sets/acts, Armin Van Buuren was awesome! Heard only "Girls Can Be Cruel" by Infusion's act (what an understatement...lol) I caught the last 30 min of Ferry Corsten; he had the crowd rocking! Paul Oakenfold comes on and puts the crowd to sleep IMO. He needs to retire already
Tiesto was, uh, not so good. Very weak. PVD spanked the shit out of him!
PVD can stay on my list of fav DJ's a little longer; he redeemed himself after that Thanksgiving crap set back in November @ Space.
I remember when you used to go to Ultra to hear some fresh new tunes. Not anymore I guess. What was up with all the top tunes of 2 years ago being played almost everywhere? I know good tunes are good tunes, but damn, for a festival like this, you gotta bring out your A game and bust of some sick ass new tunes.
Overall it was good time. Nice meeting some fellow ATL TA's. Planning for next year to come soon?
