I just got home from work and saw the ad for this event in my inbox. I'm on my way now!! Awesome idea, Spundae!!!!!

I *LOVE* living in San Francisco!

man you guys must be having a blast right now. Armin and G&D, it was to be one of the best nights down there... best of all FREE!

Sweet I get to write the first review!!!

Man we were spoiled...that was one of the best nights of the year..
strange how they always fall on a weekday, eh? Except for the 4,
yes, count 'em, 4, drunk girls that spilled their drinks on me,
I had a great time, everyone, Armin, Dave, Josh....seemed to be having a great time. Absolutely ZERO attitude (a nice change after
spending the week in guido/plastic-girl/spring-breaker infested Miami). Got lots of great pics on my friends camera,
hope to post them tomorrow...but for now, my ears are ringing
from those Mighty mids!!!

I definitely can't wait to see everyone's pictures. I'm probably in some of them. I haven't met any fellow TA's though I go to all sorts of shows all over. Maybe one of these days...!

I just want to comment on the Mister Brightside remix Gabriel & Dresden spun. FANTASTIC. Anyone know which mix it was?

Overall a WONDERFUL night. It was cool seeing Armin sitting behind G&D nodding his head to their set and even doing a little mixing with them. A great laidback time. Props to Spundae and the performers!

Track IDs in Armin's set (I'm not good with names of remixes tho):

Antiloop/Synergy(?) - Hello Strings
Gabriel & Dresden - Arcadia
Max Graham Featuring Jessica Jacobs - I Know You're Gone
Tiesto - Adagio For Strings
Cranberries - Shattered

What was the song after Hello Strings, btw? I loved it, never heard it before.

Also, there was one song with lyrics of "Everybody wants to..." and "it makes no difference.." I didn't get any more of it into my cellphone though. Any help with the track ID?

Glad people seemed to really enjoy themselves tonight! I know I did. What a surprise to hear about this show last-minute right after I got home from work. So glad I was able to make it!

i loved the 2nd song that armin played too, but i have no idea wat it is

i also remember

Firewall - Sincere (Smith & Pledger Remix)
Armin - Communication (Part 3) <------ this owned soooooooooo much live, everyone was goin crazy
Above & Beyond - No One On Earth (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Armin - Burned With Desire (? Remix, didn't seem like Rising Star)

and G&D played The Killers - Mr. Brightside (Thin White Duke Remix) which was real awesome too

it was funny how they shut off the power and turned on the fire alarm like 3 times while armin was tryin to get in his last song

i have next to no ringing thanks to my ER-20s which work great

all in all an awesome night I won't forget

Thumbs up The greatest night I ever had

This party was absolutely awesome!!! I got out of class and got there around 10:15 and G&D was already spinnin. I got my Belt singed by Armin, G&D. THANKS for them. That's what San Francisco is all about. NObody mess up and everyone, including DJs, have great time... and i agreed with who just turned into 21. My First party was with Tiesto.... Btw, Armin's second track was awesome. I enjoyed it very much. One thing I like about Armin is he never stop other dj set to start his set. It wan't April Fool at all. So thanks to DAVE.
See you guys at the next gig. happy2: Well, I had to wake up early for my 8 o'clock class.

I think the track you are thinking of is...

Motorcycle - Around You

I'm glad ya'll had a good time.

However I have a problem with this party being un-announced by anyone, it's just not right. I checked both Armada & Spundae's sites and there was nothing there. Don't get me wrong I'm all for partying but this only sets bad precedent for false party advertisement.

Posted by DaveT on Mar-31-2005 17:57:

It was not announced before because the event was just whipped together Tuesday afternoon/evening. Armin happened to be in town working with G&D and they agreed to have some fun and play together at a free party....

We had 24 hours to promote the event once everything was set and a venue was secured. I think we did a great job considering the turnout. :-p

Ack, getting database errors when clicking on the pictures. I'll check later from work, probably just Photobucket having some problems. Thanks for posting those! Can't wait for the rest. I saw a LOT of cameras there.

Be Cool!

AMAZING night...

I want to thank everyone who showed up because the crowd was arguably the best I've ever seen. It really made last night enjoyable, although Armin's set was phenomenal by itself. No rude people, very good mix, and you could tell that everyone there knew the music and loved the music.

Thanks to Dave for the heads up. I did my part to spread the word as best as I could.(although I did have to run out to call others that I had forgotten during the day)

I'm a bit hung over from all the v-tonics I downed last night, but it's all worth it...

I still can't get over how fun it was. Only in San Francisco! Keep it coming!

Hoping I remember the order he played his first few tracks in, but if I recall correctly, the second track Armin played was a brand new track just finished yesterday that he made with Gabriel & Dresden.

Last night was just incredible. With only 24 hours of promoting, everyone still dropped all their previous plans and came out. The vibe was surreal. The sets by Syd Gris, G&D, and Armin were all amazing.

It was awesome to see G&D and Armin get there essentially when the place opened and chat it up with everyone all night, take tons of pics, sign everything from mixers, belts, boobs, shirts, vinyls, drawings, etc etc etc...to take a break Armin tried to escape to the booth behind G&D and girls would just crawl on the stage trying to sneak up to Armin, it was funny.

It was hilarious at the end when the fire alarm went off a few times. The smoke from the smoke machine got into some office with a smoke alarm in it. After it happened a second time, I thought Armin was going to give in, but he said "I don't care. I'm playing one more" and busted out Burned with Desire.

Oh the stories that could be told on this one....wooooweeee!!!

Quote of the night was by Armin at the end....but not sure if it should be said here, lol. If you were around, you heard it because he said it loud...hehehe...

I seriously thought J00F's set on January 1st would not be topped this year by any other night, but I was proved wrong by last night. Craziness!!!!

armin is getting the best reviews this year.

Dave

Ah, that explains the inability to ID. When you get the name could you let us know? Looking forward to its release!

Is it a female vocal that says like...

"You take a hard time, you know I love you betterrrrr.." ???

Possibly...

Julliet - Avalon (Jaque Le Cont Mix)

Posted by fupaking on Mar-31-2005 21:28:

hmm...I am pretty sure it was another language, like Portuguese or
Spanish. I have it in my head, but I can't explain it. It sounds a bit more like a group of women singing rather than one...I am sure Josh or Dave would know if I asked, maybe I'll email them later...

Was nice to see the whole crowd go off when G&D played...

Motorcycle - My Blue Heart
