My ex gf, for a valantines/birthday(i think), made my valantines only gift look a bit shit. (just in case you mean the place to get them, doubt it but, the redletter day company they still do it I think)

Was good though she worked in a hilton during the summer so she got mates rates, so we went down to london and stayed at the kensington hilton for �50 a night (normally �200 or something) for the room and breakfast (normally an additonal �12 a head) for a few days.

I took a camera to the day, but even though I'd been in london on holiday for a few days I hadn't used it... so there I was standing in the booth, headphones on, big cheesy grin, trying to look cool, a dj who played a 7hr set at the millenum dome at newyears taking the pic and.... big cheesy grin ..... nothing.... big cheesy grin ... wait hold on.... big cheesy grin ... nope nothing.... try again... big cheesy grin ....nope fucked. Other people watching too, playing spot the prick, the "advanced group" as well which I acidently got put in (by my mouth).

The guy asks "So I'll just go round and find out your names and where you've played... how long you've been playing for..."

I shit my pants (at this point I'd been djing (sorry had decks for, not even played a party) 6 months). Everyone else starts with "My name is Dadaa I've played Dadaa Club & Dadaa Club and a few parties but they are just for fun, 4 years...".

Then he comes out with "by the end I want to try you with three decks I'll show a demo using three or four....(he did three and it was fucking cool)"

I start really shitting it having just lied and said "Andrew (TRUE), a few parties (LIES) and a local club(TOTAL FUCKING LIES), 1 year (ALSO LIES)(note: still the least of the group even with lies...)". How the fuck am I going to mix three decks when I've never seen a mixer with three channels never mind used them?

Turns out some of them were either lying (as I did) or were just shit. Me and this (fit)girl and one other guy were pretty good but the rest were actually not shit obviously but you know.

Got a "free" record and album (MoS shite though) and magazine and special guest passes for MoS (think they were for the special room thing too but I could be wrong).

Was fun though really really fun and the DJ was as sound as he was good. Kinda changed my direction actually. I was harder the better alot of trance, but this guy(group member) put on some of the stuff I liked (at that point) after I used some of the DJ's stuff and it sounded total gash, not mixed in obviously but just the actual tunes. The DJ's stuff was mostly prog house well the stuff I played he's housey really.

When he asked me what I wanted to mix I shrugged and said "anything" just to be nice with a smile, which he took as "I can mix anything" which he liked I think. He gave me some sweet, like really sweet, stuff to mix too.

Highly recommend it (though maybe not paying for it if you can lol.

Nitrogen (small) room at air (godskitchen), Birmingham where i do the lighting from time to time- hence me taking the pic with it all powered off before we opened.

Trinity should be creaming his pants over the mixer (rane rotary with the Eq/X fader module ).

I have some more somewhere of various other booths, including the main room @ air and other ones i have worked in. Will post if i can get the time to dig them out.

that THAT is my fucking dream booth. I went to Air twice last Spring (for Armin and the Bonzai Night with Airwave) and the main booth is just as amazing, except with a Xone 92 if I'm not mistaken.

main booth has 4x technics, and normally has a xone 92 yes- although it is changed at the headliners request (they have about 12 mixers there)
Panels in front are filter banks with resonance
